All heroes born in Scotland are British. So why care so much,We got Captain Britain for example. It's like a people in the State of California being bothered Spider-Man was born in the State of New York. Meh...

No, it's a bit different. States and cities in the US cannot be compared to a nationality. I'm very proud to be British. But I'm Scottish first and foremost. (and for the record, I don't want Scottish independence) That's where my passion and pride comes from. Scotland is part of a larger Britain and "United Kingdom" but we are our own people with our own culture and history. And having it simplified your way is kind of insulting. Why shouldn't we have our own heroes? At no point did anyone complain about being bothered about too many British heroes and not enough Scots.

Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
It's definitely not the same. As Highwayguy said, being Scottish is a nationality. Like him, I am Scottish first and foremost. Unlike him, I don't feel particularly British and would rather Scotland became independent. So, for someone like me, Captain Britain definitely doesn't "cover" it.However, this isn't really the thread for this kind of discussion and I have nothing against English characters - I'm half English, even! I'd just be interested in one set in Scotland. :) On that note...
What sort of genre would suit Scotland? I mean, the obvious two for me are gritty crime drama and mythical monster fighting. For some reason I struggle to imagine a caped fighter up here!

Hellstrike is set to make his DCU debut in Stormwatch. he's not Scottish though, he's Irish. but at least there's another UK superhero.

A look over to Marvel's Scottish characters shows what genre we Scots would like. Alistaire and Alysande Stuart as members of W.H.O. Kylun, an animal-like noble warrior. Wolfsbane, a misunderstood "monster". (at least she was in New Mutants #1) Mythical monster fighting would be most welcome. As for gritty crime drama, a Taggart-style DC comic book character would be a hit.
But we clearly like our wild Sci-Fi tales. Just look at the Scottish writers that created/inspired Judge Dredd and 2000 AD.
I am Scottish. I have lived in this country for all but a brief period of my life. And even that was just over the border in Carlisle. But I have to admit, I have never NEVER had a deep fried Mars Bar. I really need to try one. I have to try and live up to my nation's stereotype from time to time.
Cool. We briefly mentioned Hellstrike earlier in this thread. Another UK character to be confirmed/created for the New 52 era. Personally, I'm waiting on Sister Superior and Manchester Black.
Genius.

I'm an American of Scottish decent, but my family and I try to keep up the stereotypes. My daughter loves haggis, which I'm ok with but can take or leave, and of course deep fried (almost) anything. I've told her that the Scottish love of deep frying is God's way of making sure we don't take over the world because we're either too contented and lazy with all the deep fried goodness in our stomachs or we die early from heart disease.

I still reckon The Black Douglas would be an epic bad guy name. But then, I love the Black Douglas. :D
