I look forward to this, but Bendis and Oeming will have to forgive me if I don't believe this comic won't immediately start having delays, if this first issue even ever comes out. I would be thrilled to be wrong though, Powers is one of the series that got me back into comics.

    IDW: TMNT, MTMTE, G.I. Joe
    Dynamite: Pathfinder
    Red 5: Atomic Robo
Marvel: Thor: GoT, JIM, Powers, Scarlet Spider

Same for me. Powers was also one of the books that got me back into comics and is a big reason why I still follow Bendis from book to book. So I'll always pick it up, but I stopped counting on any form of shipping consistency a long, long time ago.

Of course, I ho pe I'm wrong. Particularly given how absolutely incredible the last two issues of Powers were.

....though they can also feel free to kill Enki Sunrise anytime now.

I so want to believe the excitement that Bendis and Oeming have stated they have for these characters and this series but that's really hard to do given how many times the series has been delayed, restarted, etc. How long ago was this new series announced? I wish these two guys all the luck in the world with the television series, but it just doesn't seem worth it (to me) to get the TV series but to kill Powers in the medium from which it sprang. I've never read Powers and thought, "I hope this becomes a TV series!" I've always read it and thought, "Man, these guys are pouring their hearts and souls in to this." At least I have up until now. It feels like the creators have forgotten that without the Powers comic books, there would be no Ultimate Spider-Man, or The Victories. For me, I feel like I've been burned once too often by Powers, and as good as the new comic series may be -- and how awesome the TV show may be -- sadly Bendis, Oeming, et al have lost me as a reader.

I can totally understand, but honestly we never forgot Powers. Brian was working daily on the show... I can't even explain how much work has gone into that- and yes, it did derail us from the comic again. But don't forgot, Powers is almost 12 years old now! It takes a lot to maintain a book. Anyway, I hope by issue 6, you'll see the book is out regularly and you'll give it a try again once the newest arc is done.
