While I'm incredibly happy to see Midnighter back in his old costume I really hate the idea of scrapping all the built up storylines and continuity that has been built.
I hope that they don't lose the Demon Knights connection and the Shadow Lords, who still need to be fleshed out. Adam One and Harry Tanner could, I guess, move to Justice League Dark, which recently teased the question of whether Adam One is "the Big M" (Merlin--presumably). If not in Stormwatch, we should find out in JLA (most likely its backup) what the Shadow Lords wanted from Martian Manhunter in exchange for leaving the team. I still want Etrigan to come back as an adversary (and maybe reluctant ally)--but alternatively, he could go to JL Dark, too.
I like the idea that the spirit of the age has changed to Jenny Soul. The new/old look for Midnighter is definitely an improvement. I'm glad that they're bringing back some Wildstorm characters rather than only adding characters that never had a Stormwatch connection. I hope the team's focus remains protecting the earth, with any interstellar adventures always remaining connected to that focus.
I'm apparently in the minority here. Not impressed by any of it. If anything, I find this terribly underwhelming.
I step back for Apollo and Midnighter, and the Weird? Really? Meh.
Wait a minute.
Is that The Weird on the cover?

Is Battalion too much to ask for?
Also who is Jenny Soul?

I never even thought about getting Stormwatch before.
Now that Starlin is on the book I will be getting the book.
Indeed, the Scourge of World's mysterious mission of making Earth stronger remains a mystery and the Hidden Peoples own machinations are left to the sidelines. The Eye of the Storm also being a Daemonite vessel also kind of implied we would have seen some battles with the Daemonites at least but nothing. And I always kept entertaining the idea that Harry Tanner aka Eminence of Blades was a Kherubim agent but alas....
I am Apocalypse! Look upon the future and tremble!
I am as far beyond Mutants as they are beyond you. I am eternal.
Evil? I am not malevolent, I simply am!
Mixed feelings. I was really hoping that the whole shunted to another dimension thing would equal a new Authority book, and I'm disappointed that won't happen. But I was hoping that mostly because I figured DC wouldn't flat out REPLACE characters with alternate versions, and I am beyond happy to have a Midnighter, Apollo and (maybe) Engineer who aren't saddled with a lot of the idiocy that's transpired in the first 18 issues. No Midnighter stalking Apollo, no names for them, no heel-turn from Angie, etc. and, of course, Midnighter's in his old costume. It doesn't just 'resemble' his Authority look, it's a straight up reproduction of Bryan Hitch's original design for him, down to the smallest detail. As a fan of the characters but not a fan of Stormwatch at all, I'm all for a fresh start, and hope these new/old versions of the characters are permanent.
While the idea of Stormwatch being tied to Demon Knights had potential, it just was handled so badly in a number of ways that I don't care to see where it's going anymore. Yeah, this leaves some dangling plot lines, but they're plots I have no interest in anymore, so whatever. I hope the Shdadow Lords are gone as well, except maybe as bad guys. I think the Shadow Lords helped damage the characters by taking away their autonomy, and absolutely do not want to see them in charge of the team again. So throw it all away as far as I'm concerned.
All that being said, I am not sure Starlin is right to write the characters, though... but I will reserve judgment until I see it.

I am looking forward to reading a lot of the WTF books.
