Oi! is a teen drama slice of life web comic set in Ancient Ireland. It follows the adventures of a bard fresh out of his 12 year studies at bardic college where he was assigned to be the village musician in a poor fishing town that thinks music is a waste of time.
I've been doing alot of research for the art and writing, and while I will take some creative liberties, the world of Oi is realistic and grounded. Medieval stories always are following warriors or kings doing epic things, I thought it would be interesting to set a story in those times but just follow normal people. Ancient Ireland was a society where the poets had as much political power as the kings, and was ruled by hippies aka druids which is awesome. Also wherever I see them depicted, whether it's in games of TV shows or comics like Asterix, bards always wind up being the butt monkey. If you are one of the few fans of these down-trodden musicians, Oi! is the comic for you. The bard is finally given the front stage.
