RIP Spider-Man
Ooh... Jonah's gonna be suspecting something's up now too, surely? That's not the Spidey he's used to.
He's not the fool he's being written as lately, he was on the ball when Ben Reilly replaced Pete and is supposed to have been a great reporter. His moustache senses should be tingling after that!
That would be a very large regression because Peter was never a "broke loser outcast" to begin with. That scenario would be very boring in my opinion. But it has gone from one extreme to the next without a center point. If Peter was actually a "broke loser outcast", there was no way that he could have had a relationship with Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane from the start. If Marvel wants Peter to be a "broke loser outcast", Mephisto should implant his soul into Zombie Spider-Man or The Man-Thing. Then we could see some real action.
That's true. It would be interesting if he could do that with Betty Brant.

Ok .. this is getting good. You got me Slott.
I'm on for the ride ...
I am a fan of Spider-Man. But I am referring to the notion that Peter's soul went on a trip. And I felt that the fans could know where his soul went before he came back. To me, Zombie Spider-Man is like Todd McFarlane's Spawn: A man who wanted to see his wife once again, but was tricked by the devil. I liked the idea of Peter's(Earth-616) soul being imprisoned in his Zombie counterpart because it would certainly explain how he changed over the course of 40 years on Earth-2149 to Earth-Z.
