Thread: Spock's Lover

    Default Spock's Lover

So I was thinking that most likely SpOck will somehow get a new girlfriend. What are the consequences for Peter when and if he comes back? Say Superior Spider-Man lasts for maybe a year or two before Peter returns and Spock would have found a new Mary Jane. What happens if Spock and that new girlfriend have a baby. And then Peter finds away to come back. What do you think he will do? Would he keep Spock girlfriend or just forget about her?

These days, if she's a new character, a woman, along with the tone of comics these days "nothing good happens to good people", she'll be wormfood before it's over anyways, but I'm sure the guilt would remain, as especially (the real) Peter Parker has long been famous to be prone for.

Now I think of it, some version of Rosalie - Otto's Wife in Spider-Man 2 - might be interesting to see in the comic if it were handled well, maybe even being the first one he tells his big secret to (if Carlie doesn't figure it out first anyway). A story where 'Spidey' also crosses paths with Carolyn Trainer is something of a must, really. Or Otto's former lab assistant he developed feelings for, as read in the Year One Story.

might as well come up with someone brand new, whom Potto can treat cavalierly, and it won't be a big deal if she breaks up with him forever..

Sadly, Mary Alice died of AIDS. Really.

I say he should dig up his little ock book and give Carolyn Trainer a call.

Lady Ock and Stunner, if you please.

    What about this possibility?

    Carlie Cooper.

Think about it. She's the only one who strongly suspects that The Superior Spider-Man is really Doc Ock. We've seen from the preview for Superior Spider-Man #3 that they'll have to work together. And even though Carlie would have every reason to hate him, she would also see that much of what he's doing actually is effective and brilliant, not to mention that, not only would it be her word against his but that she'd also be depriving the world of Spider-Man if she told anyone her suspicions. And Carlie, much to her shock, finds herself falling for him and his charms. Considering that Doc Ock has Peter's memories of her, and that he has an appreciation for the mind, he might say "Parker may have liked her, but he was so busy trying to get over the Watson girl that he couldn't appreciate Ms. Cooper's true beauty." Plus it's got your classic dynamics of opposites attract, good girl and the bad boy, love from the wrong side of the tracks, etc.

Angelina Brancale, is possibly still in respirator for all I know, because that was where Marvel last left her, and Trainer, despite her OBSESSION with her former mentor, the only true books with them physically interacting together is Amazing Spider-Man #428-429 & Spider-Man Unlimited #18, all of which, even in the flashbacks of Unlimited #19, Otto never treated her any more than a pupil and associate. I am quite sure Otto has moved on with both of them, perhaps Stunner is even DEAD, since none has been mentioned of them, nothing that infers he still visits Brancale once a day, and him back to his old, unfeeling megalomania, when he next appeared little over a year later, Amazing Spider-Man (Vol.2) #6.

I agree with you on both counts. I thought that they were very positive additions to his rogues gallery, and I would like to see them used again.

There is a chance, as Slott has brought back some elements of the 90's and as Spider Island showed he is not adverse to using female villains.

I would like to see them both come back, and I think Otto should get a lover while he is Spider-Man. Will make things interesting when Peter returns, just not someone who has been involved with Peter before (ie no Carlie, Michele, or MJ)

It would not be so bad, would be a new twist in the life of Peter, more than Spider-Man.
I just hope "spock urged" not last as long.
