Went with Aquaman this week. Maybe it is just because I was ready to drop Johns altogether several months ago, but whatever he is doing now has me hooked. Also read Flash, Superman and Green Lantern Corps Annual. All were good reads so no misses for DC this week. Still have to read Firestorm though, but I like what Jurgens is doing so I expect to enjoy it as well.

Really enjoyed Justice League Behind #18 and Smallville #32.

In JLB we begin a new arc 40 years in the past, the night the Joker died and was buried beneath the ruins of Arkham. We learn that this night was the would be the end of Barbara's career as Batgirl, and that Bruce would build a secret vault beneath the Batcave to bury villains like the Joker rather than allow their graves to become magnets for their insane followers. In the main time period, we learn that someone has broken into the vault and that his next target will be the new Flash museum in Central City.

Smallville continues the Batman and J'Onn side story where we find a white Martian hunting J'Onn. The real gem here is the character interaction between the two heroes. Bryan really had these two nailed, just add he does with Clark. As much as the New 52 Superman books would benefit from Bryan's writing, I think I'd prefer he stay here in this side universe that he had more control over, since he's not sharing the characters with any other titles.
    Recommended Comics:
    Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

The Batman and Robin Annual was just plain amazing. Great writing, great art, great character work and just a whole lot of fun. Fun from start to finish and I can't believe it's not first. I was dangerously close to dropping this book but after this and the Joker issues I'm back on board. Best non Morrison Damian story in a while

Inc was great as usual. I didn't like it as much as the first 6 issues but it was better than 0, I felt Burnham's art contribution was his weakest efforts yet IMO but still looked good. Morrison's epic saga is still epic with a lot of fun thrown in there as well. Loved the panel with Batcow, Titus the new Bathound and Alfred the Batcat. Hopefully next issue won't have fill in art though.

GLC Annual was a pretty great ending to Third Army. Had a lot of epicness about it and got me excited for Wrath.

Talon was a lot of fun. Not amazing but with energy and action.

Aquaman was good. Don't know why it's considered the pick of the week.

Superman was also a lot of fun but Lobdell needs to cut it with the overdose of dialogue. He's done the impossible and made me interested with Oracle and the H'El on Earth final.

Teen Titans was the opposite of Superman. Good dialogue but a really, really dumb plot. Random annoying cutaways and Jokergod stupidity. I usually don't buy this book but it annoys me that I have because of Red Hood.

Catching up with I, Vampire and might check out Dark Knight if the arc is considered consistent and doesn't drop off like the last one.

Writer of the week: Surprise: Peter Tomasi. Bet nobody saw that coming! (Morrison would be predictable).

Artist of the week: Rocafort duh.

    Character of the week: Damian!

Voted "Other" for JKP # 5. Including Marvel & independents, I would've gone with Adventure Time, though. Also my FLCS finally got in the GL:NG Annual # 1 for me, which might have been a contender had it actually come out this week. I thought it was actually better than Threshold # 1.

Ranking of DCs (others in parens):
    (Adventure Time # 12)
    (Hawkeye # 7)
Joe Kubert Presents # 5 (the conclusion of Angel & the Ape!)
Injustice: Gods Among Us # 1 (things got apocalyptic real quick here)
Batman Beyond Unlimited # 12 (great to see Lobo, although he wasn't particularly memorable here; loved the origin of Micron; and tired of this Joker King story - end it already!)
He-Man & the MOTU # 6 (good conclusion; ready for the ongoing!)
JLD # 16 (decent issue, but this book's still on the bubble for me, particularly if they decide to lose Zatanna altogether)
    (X-treme X-men # 9)
    (The Shadow # 9)
MOTU: Origin of He-Man # 1 (pretty blah)
