The show's long term life may be in doubt, but "Young Justice" producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti have more story to tell in Season 2. The two describe their plans to CBR while sharing an exclusive clip.

Because Cartoon Network did everything in their power to lower the ratings to justify canceling it.
Kind of loving how Cartoon Network's twitter and Facebook are just blown up with angry fans. There is so much love for these shows and they get good ratings. But the logic behind CN wanting to get rid of them? We'll probably never know.
The best superhero show since JLU and frankly the best modern interpretation of the modern DCU. Clearly it had to go to keep the hacks running DC from continuing to look bad. They already went thru four years of people pointing to JL/JLU and asking why the contemporary JLA comics weren't any damn good. This is 1000 times better than both the New 52 JL and Teen Titans books. Can't let it go on again.
Recommended Comics:
Star Wars: Dark Times,
Richard Stark's Parker by Darwyn Cooke,
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye
There are a lot of simple answers. Merchandising. Shows like Adventure Time makes them plenty of money on the merchandising end of things. The same with Clone Wars. But that's most likely moving to one the Disney stations. The toys for Young Justice aren't selling like hotcakes. That tells me either one of two things. They're not promoting it the way it should, or it's mostly teens and adults watching. Teens and adults aren't going to buy toys, and we're most likely not going to buy what is advertised during the commercials. Nothing is going to make me buy a Pillow Pet. It may also be the tone of the show. I wouldn't be surprised if Teen Titans Go outlasts YJ and GL. That's going to fit into Cartoon Networks type of show they likes to push now. Weird and quirky. I think YJ and GL would do better on Nick because they skew to an older youth audience. Nick and Disney have that demographic on lock.
It's nice that they sort of own up to the freshmen characters being underdeveloped. Maybe they hoped to give them more characterization and bigger roles in a hypothetical season 3. I do like that Static and the other runaways will have a big role in these last few episodes.
I'll be sad to see this show go, all the same. Hopefully we'll at least get a DTV down the line but I'm not holding my breath.
Interesting comment I read on an article on Newsarama (http://blog.newsarama.com/2012/10/17...isappear/#comm) awhile back:
"So, I spoke to one of the former Producers of “Adventure Time” at the Alternative Press Expo this past weekend (won’t name names). Mainly because I knew he worked at Cartoon Network & I wanted to complain to someone about them cancelling “Thundercats”.
He said that whenever comedic cartoons, such as “Adventure Time” are the most popular (like now), CN pulls the plug on their action shows (and vice versa when action shows are more popular). What they do is pull the show off air for a few months, & then return it to the air without announcing or promoting it. Naturally, the viewers will have dropped off (no one knew it was coming back). CN then uses this rationale to drop the shows completely: “Well, we brought it back, but no one was watching.”
That’s exactly what they did to the new He-Man show back in 2003/2004. That’s exactly what they did to “Thundercats” last year.
And this is exactly what is going on with the DC Nation block right now.
So, if you have ears at Cartoon Network, let them know this sucks, because this could be really bad for the DC Animated shows.
Two more thoughts:
1) The “toys not selling” reasoning is flimsy. Mattel should be concerned about that, not CN. Besides, any time I go to Toys R Us or Walmart these days it’s almost impossible for me to find the super hero figures I’m seeking out, so how can they NOT be selling? I have yet to even see a Young Justice figure on the shelves at a regular store.
2) Why do the DC shows have to air on CN anyway? Why not CW on Saturday mornings, & then re-run them on like Hub or Qubo (sp?)?
Thanks,
–J."
The sad part is this doesn't really surprise me. Interesting that in the interview when Vietti is listing off the "Freshman" he didn't mention Beast Boy who's been on the show longer than both Impulse and Arsenal. I wonder how much one should read into that...
There's a simple answer for that: WB owns CN. CN's base holdings are parental cartoons (Hanna Barbara, Warner Bros., DC) while their track record on original content has also been fairly locked to their parent's holdings — Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost, SeaLab, etc. It makes more sense DC Nation would start there than CW, especially since Warners has been trying very hard to shift CW to a more adult station (and doing poorly at that).
The sad part, of course, is that CN doesn't realize the value of the audience BETWEEN the comedic and the adult. Young Justice, GI Joe: Renegades and Thundercats all fit into that category, with longer story arcs and less emphasis on the little kids.

I really wish that DC would get behind this universe as a viable piece of their comic/film like. Because I would literally buy everything. If there was a good YJ comic that followed the tone and continuity of the show, I'd buy the blank outta that blank. If they did any tie in movies that continued that universe, I'd buy the blank out of that blank also.
In fact, if DC could promise me continuing content, I'd pay a subscription fee just to watch it a la netflix and Hulu. I honestly think the YJ universe is THAT good. They've managed to incorporate the entire line in a modern way that works without leaving chunks out. It's amazing stuff.
I pray that all of this fan outpouring can change their minds. The petition that's going around is at about 15.5K signatures. These shows are too good for WB and CN to just let die. Teen Titans had its time on the air, and it had a good run. Let it be.
