Now if Vertigo teased us with new series, that would be even better.

Sounds good, but I really need to catch up on Fables (I'm trading the Deluxe Editions).

Also... shouldn't this be in the Vertigo section out of curiousity?

    This is great news

    Except for cheapskates like me.

I read unwritten for the for the first time when Comixology had a 99¢ sale, ever since I've been waiting for another sale and have been getting further and further behind.

Fables on the other hand came out once a week until it was caught up with current story arcs, now I'm looking at all the issues I have to pay1.99 for

Oh how my wants lead to envy and then to selfish anger

Agreed. This news doesn't make me very happy. It also makes me worry that Unwritten may have jumped the shark.

I passionately love what Unwritten is. It's an intellectual story that, when finished, will sort of work as a self contained masterpiece (at least until the end of War of Words, which is as far as I've read).

Fables is a story that keeps getting extended because Willingham wants to keep making money.

I strongly disapprove of this. But hopefully it will be good.

Hopefully this will be one of those crossovers where you don't have to buy the other book, 'cause even if it isn't no way in Hell am I buying Unwritten...

And he keeps making money because his audience wants more stories. How that's a bad thing is beyond me but then, so is the appeal of Carey and the Unwritten...

I thought it was pretty clear he's saying it's what as opposed to any real creativity fueling these stories.

Considering the crossover ONLY takes place in Unwritten, I'd say you're up a creek without a paddle there.

I gave up on Fables after the 8th trade or so, the story just ended up feeling like a soap opera to me, and I wasn't interested in continuing with it. I don't mind the crossover, though, since I assume it isn't going to be particularly important to The Unwritten in the long run.
