Spidey by what he did in AVX
Doc Strange for getting back his SS title
Winter Soldier, for persisting in the face of discouragement
Ms Marvel for her KSD makeover as an assertive female ordering around Cap.
Havoc for his gig as Uncanny Avengers leader, big step up for him.
Hulk for his inclusion in Avengers at last, big win for Banner.

Without an order:

Scarlet Witch - He returned to the Avengers and friends, that's what matters
Captain Marvel - She won the year and became the leader of a group of Avengers
Human Torch - Had a sensational return to Earth
Hawkeye - One of the greats of the year as always. Led well the Secret Avengers
Hank Pym - This is the guy! Great speeches as a teacher and big stakes in Secret Avengers.
Venom - Big surprise, the old Flash has become one of the best
Rachel Grey - Large and prominent role in AVX not seen since the war of kings
Deadpool - Despite being a member of X-Force, Wade showed great value to Genesis.
Black Widow - Crucial role in Secret Avengers
Eric Grady (Ant-Man) - sacrificed his life to save a child, that's enough.

10 Hope - consolation, her excellent book was cancelled
9 Pixie - went wherever the awesomeness scent took her
8 Mags - for righteousness
7 Mettle - consolation, his headshot was avatar worthy
6 Brand - for righteousness and ballsiness
5 Cable - for being annoyingly right as per usual
4 Finesse - most interesting Avengers Academy character, and top 3 for Avengers franchise overall. Give her all the awards.
3 Quentin Quire - became a hero, quietly, and maintained his awesome.
2 Legion - Legacy has already completely rehabilitated him and then some.
1 Cyclops

And I totally forgot R'chel. Though she didn't do much heroing this year, so I'm content leaving her off the list. Honourable mention, for a handful of awesome moments of heroing.

1. Cyclops. To take a character I have found boring at best and utterly dislikable for 30 years and make me want to read about him, kudos. Great year and great turn-around.
2. Hawkeye. I can not gush enough about how much I love the Fraction/Aja series.
3. Venom. Great solo series, prominent role in Secret Avengers, A symbiote hasn't been this interesting in a long time...
4. Ant-Man (Scott Lang). back from the dead and leading his own Fantastic Four...
5. Hope. Without a prominent lead in a main series, she continues to garner big attention.
6. Legion. If you had told me a year ago Legion would headline his own series, and it would be a good and fascinating read, I would have likely laughed at you...
7. Scarlet Spider. Underrated series, but a very good read read, and he is holding his own...
8. Psylocke. I may hate the Kwannon/Elizabeth merger...still...but she was by far the most fascinating character in X-Force.
9. Havoc. Back from space, on through X-Force, and now leading his own Avengers team.
10. Valkyrie. Marvel seems pretty intent on pushing this sword-wielding warrior.

In no specific order:

1. Tarantula (Six Guns) - Next to Matt Slade, she was the standout of the team.
2. Lil' Loki - Even though outclassed he managed to stay one step ahead of everyone.
3. Sif - Currently the baddest femme warrior. Finally getting the respect she deserves under Immonen/Schiti.
4. Black Cat - Just a fun character. Loved the Spider-man/Daredevil team-up.
5. Daredevil - Waid's has a very charming take on the character.
6. Punisher - Punisher as a force of nature has been a great ride.
7. Red Hulk - Great turn from villainy to a true hero under Parker. Also had a great supporting cast and cool new villains.
8. Venom - Flash Venom is the most interesting the character has ever been for me.
9. Spider-man (Morales) - While the transition wasn't the smoothest, it's good to get a true refresh on an old established property.
10. Wonder Man - He's finally starting to get the respect he deserves as a true powerhouse (choked out Red Hulk). Vastly underrated Avenger who deserves a chance in the spotlight.

Mettle is Truly a Hero, he saved his loves Hazmat's life but giving his own. Self Sacrifice for someone you care and/or love for is truly being a Hero. He went up in my book, I hope he comes back, he deserves it S/D.

Legion - finally an awesome character
Dazzler - took on a space whale with Xavier's face
