I enjoyed the first movie (part) much more than the second. It had everything I look for in an animation movie and had a great cliffhanger.

I liked it, the comic never really did much for me. The short version of it is my first batman was morrison in JLA, so the batman who punches guys doesn't do a whole lot for me.
But, when it's animated i think it has a bit more punch. Points to dc for letting a movie that portrays superman in such a negative light go through though.

I keep thinking that if they had Bruce narrate has much as he did the original comic book it would have come off like a rift track
Has to remember his suggestion for the traitor game

Not a fan of the book at all but I did enjoy part 1 of the movie, haven't seen part 2 yet.

And while I've heard bad things about The Dark Knight Strikes Again I think a movie of it would be hilariously great.

Never been a fan of Miller's comics but I've almost always enjoyed the movie adaptations to an extent at least.

If by well you mean gigantic tool who gave up his freedom to be the presidents errand boy, then yeah, he came off well.

That was covered in the book, as well as the movie.
He came off the same in both.
I saw the movie....it was okay. Michael Emerson as the Joker was very creepy, though, and it worked perfectly.
The battle between Superman and Batman at the end was just 'fight scene we have seen in every DCU animated movie #1001', though.
Kind of underwhelming, to be honest.
It was better than part 1, though.

Nah I agree. Too many Superman homers complain about DKR because of how he is portrayed. When realistically it is just two opposing ideologies being played out through the characters. Superman was always meant to be seen as a good guy who was faced with a difficult dillemma to play off of Batman. It made sense. Sadly all alot of people get out of it is that Superman is the bad guy and he was made to get thrashed by Batman. In the end it took everything Batman had, years of him pouring resources into synthesized kryptonite, a power suit, help from Green Arrow, the power in the city, all so Bruce could land a few shots on Superman so he could fake his death.

It's not about the fight, it's about the core way they are each portrayed in the story.
Batman is the anti establishment guy who makes things work by going his own way, and Superman is the boy scout propping up the government which clearly can't do the job as well as Batman.
It's not that Superman is the bad guy, that would have been less damning imo. It was that Superman had no spine, he was literaly a tool because that's what he was used as, he was the governments weapon.

Indeed. I loved the wink at the end.

I'm surprised at the complaints, I guess it's because I've never read the book, but I loved these movies. Probably the finest DC movies yet.
I especially loved the first one, but part 2 is great too.
A lot of people get sentience confused for sapience. Your hamster is sentient, you are sapient. Intelligence is sapience.

Having read the book it was surreal seeing Parts 1 and 2. I enjoyed the music and really appreciated the themes present throughout. That final battle in motion was even better than how I imagined it.
