    Default PREVIEW: Spawn #227

"DE-PROGRAMMED," Part Three: "The Life and Death of Jason Wynn" - Conclusion
Since his sudden awakening from a mysterious coma in the pages of SPAWN 185, Jim Downing, the world's newest Hellspawn, has been searching for his past. At every turn answers were given in the form of more questions, but his time spent looking back has come to an end.
As Jason Wynn weaves his final tale, the great manipulator will set Spawn up for something they both long for - freeing Jim of the burden of his human past, and unwittingly paving the way for a threat far greater than any imagined.

Yes, I was looking through Amazing 300 the other week and remembered how great it was to pick up Todd's stuff every month.

Todd was awesome on ASM and the Incredible Hulk.

This was my first issue of Spawn in 15 years. Even though it was the end of an arc it still delivered. Art is dark and gritty and well done, and the pacing was great. All talking heads but I never got bored. Good place to start though since next issue will be a new beginning.

Now I just need to do soem research to find out what happened to Al Simmons and why Jim is now the hellspawn.

Glad to see you back on board!

Issue 185 on will catch you up on everything you need to know. You could even get away with starting at issue 201 when the current creative team took over (collected in New Beginnings TPB volumes 1 & 2, and then some singles). They've got a great tone in the book now - dark, gritty & realistic (as much as a comic book about Heaven vs Hell can be).

You've definitely picked a good spot to hop on board, though.
