    Default Indies: DH Blackout/Brain Boy

Speaking of Shooter, the best move being made here is staying away from him. As brilliant as the guy was in his heyday, his style just doesn't work anymore. The Dark Key stuff showed that, and its funny that DH has now turned to another creator responsible for the success of the new VALIANT in FVL to launch a property (Dwayne S was also brought in on X).
Thanks again. These are good points as usual and your mention of Shooter reminded me of some Turok V1 era issues I ran across recently. The basic premise was basically regurgitated for Turok Dark Key.I realise that the intent was to homage all the way back to Gold Key,but I wonder if people rejected Turok Dark Key because they felt they were reading the same story all over again.Be that as it may Brain Boy I hope kicks butt. Now to get people onboard and avoid that cooling off you mentioned on the other Valiant Toys thread.I was hoping to hear numbers closer to 20,000 not 12-15,000.It's rough all over I guess and good luck to Dark Horse. I'm already following Ghost.

12-15k, while subpar by Big 2 standards and usually cause for cancellation, is the highest average per book sales of any non Big 2 publisher. I think if Brain Boy sold that on average, Dark Horse would be pretty pleased. I hope it, and their other new superhero books, is successful. The world needs books that are different from the typical Big 2 drivel.
VALIANT, Saga, Manhattan Projects, Locke & Key, Hawkeye, Young Avengers.
