Default Nightwing - prince of gotham

Back to when Kyle Higgins was going on about how Nightwing was going to be elevated to this "prince of gotham" status due to this whole amusement mile lark, and after whats happened over in DOTF, anyone else feel kinda lied to?

Dont get me wrong im enjoying the comic an all just I cant see how this whole story line is gonna work out after whats happened.

Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Plans change, the end. DoTF is shaking things up a lot, and it seems one of those results is going to be moving Dick out of Gotham, that's about all you can say on the subject.

Event hype. This was stated as part of the build up toward the first Bat event, Court of Owls tie-in, not DotF. This was a theme that was being looked at alongside the whole Amusement Mile development as well.

But I now see it all as heavily worded bullsh**. There has been no such development of Dick's role in Gotham beyond that event other than a lackluster Zero issue, a horribly executed two-parter featuring a lame assassin who is not Deathstroke, and now the latest Joker event has eaten what's left of Dick's setting and personal investment. Yep, a Joker crossover, which will forever put him at a loss against a villain he will never gain satisfaction against, because like Jason and Barbara, the Joker is not their archenemy, he belongs to Batman. We're just forced to watch everyone sit and spin.

Its a real shame because it seems the entire purpose of the Nightwing book so far is for it to be a companion piece for the main bat book.

Dick really could of done with a story line that would have developed him.

I assume that's why the change has been made, Dick moving out of Gotham so the title becomes less of an extension of what's going on in Snyder's Batman title.

I agree. I like Nightwing a lot and one reason why I read it is that it's an extension of Snyder's Batman run. But for Nightwing to remain compelling, they need to start distancing themselves from "Batman".

I'd love to see Dick become mayor of Gotham

Is it true that DC Comics is working on a comic series called The Robins?

Good... I didn't like that rumor.
