Default Rate and Give your Opinion of the Star Trek Films

hi Guys i saw on the thread anouncing JJ Abrams would be Directing Star wars some starkly different opinions of the trek films.
so here is a thread to rate and compare the trek films, and give your general thoughts about them.

you dont have too use it but my rating system is this

    5 of 5 - amazing / supurb
    4 of 5 - great
    3 of 5 - good
    2 of 5 - ok / meh
    1 of 5 - bad
    0 of 5 - horrible

    ================================================== ==============================================
    MY THOUGHTS

STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE (1979) = 2
very good Si-fi film, not a great Trek film

STAR TREK 2: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) = 5
    nuff said

STAR TREK 3: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK (1984) = strong 3
great follow up too 2, single complaint is them replacing Kristy Alley with a new actress for her role

    STAR TREK 4: THE VOYAGE HOME (1986) = 3
    need to rewatch

    STAR TREK 5: THE FINAL FRONTIER (1989) = 1-2
    really Need to Rewatch

    STAR TREK 6: THE UNDISCOVERD COUNTRY (1991) = 4-5
twas my Introduction to trek, love the film, it is my favorite of the films while khan is what i think is the best film
Christopher plummer as General Chang is Probably my favorite trek villain
and 6 has one of my favorite trek themes ever during the opening

    STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (1994) = low 2
very meh film sadly, there where some really good picard moments in it, specialy his end speech.
and lol the moment when soran looks up and sees Kirk and ask "just who the hell are you"
and picard appears behind him and replys "he is james T Kirk, dont you read history?"
soran glanced back at kirk in shock and then he is all like NOPE! and jumps off the Bridge.

    STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996) = 3
film really never WOWed me like it does other people, the borg stuff is all great, but i just could never get in to the earthbound stuff, need to rewatch

    STAR TREK: INSURRECTION (1998) = 1-2

    STAR TREK: NEMESIS (2002) = 3-4
REALLY never understood the hate for this film, great villain, love the space battles and the scimitar, love the Remans make up and desgin, would like to see more of them in future stories, maybe in the new trekverse make there civilization almost equals with the romulans

    STAR TREK (2009) = 4

STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE (1979) = 2
good ideas, poorly executed: moves very slow

STAR TREK 2: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) = 5
    KHAAAAAANN!!

STAR TREK 3: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK (1984) = 3
seems a lot smaller in scope than 2 somehow, but I still liked it

    STAR TREK 4: THE VOYAGE HOME (1986) = 4
    Nuclear wessels

    STAR TREK 5: THE FINAL FRONTIER (1989) = 3
feels small and like it has lower production values (a'la 3), and Sybock certainly came out of nowhere, but it was well acted, and the whole "I need my pain" bit boosts it up 1 for me

    STAR TREK 6: THE UNDISCOVERD COUNTRY (1991) = 4
directed by the guy behind II, and it shows

    STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (1994) = 3
the novels that brought Kirk back took the sting out of this for me, so I can just enjoy Kirk befuddling Picard in the kitchen

    STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996) = 4
    great action movie

    STAR TREK: INSURRECTION (1998) = 2
    "meh" indeed

    STAR TREK: NEMESIS (2002) = 1
    my least favourite...pretty depressing

    STAR TREK (2009) = 3.5
a new timeline: nice way to reboot without throwing out all the great stuff that came before
Pull List; seems to be too long to fit in my sig...

STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE (1979) - 2

STAR TREK 2: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) - 3

STAR TREK 3: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK (1984) - 3

    STAR TREK 4: THE VOYAGE HOME (1986) - 4

    STAR TREK 5: THE FINAL FRONTIER (1989) - 2

    STAR TREK 6: THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY (1991) - 3
    - in one of the episodes in ST voyager , we got a flashback to see a bit of Sulu during that period. Christopher Plummer would also reclaim his role as General Chang again in the game "Star Trek : Klingon Academy" where we also saw how he lost his eye.

    STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (1994) - 2

    STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996) - 4

    STAR TREK: INSURRECTION (1998) - 2

    STAR TREK: NEMESIS (2002) - 2

    STAR TREK (2009) - hasn't seen it.

Note: I haven't watched any of the Next Generation films in their entirety.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - 2

It's too slow and obvious, but it does have some nice shots and interesting moments.

    Star Trek II - 3

It's a very exciting movie that doesn't know how to end.

    Star Trek III - 1

I only give it a 1 because of Shatner's hilarious "Klingon bastards" speech.

    Star Trek IV - 4

    Very funny.

    Star Trek V - 2

It's not boring, but it's kinda goofy and not as funny as IV.

    Star Trek VI - 4

This one has the best story of the bunch by far.

    Star Trek Generations - 1

    Bad fan fiction.

    Star Trek (2009) - 2

Some laughs and neat moments can't salvage the bad action directing, silly story, shitty villain, and obvious pandering to the masses.

STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE (1979) = 1
Boring and full of itself. Felt like it wanted to be 2001: A Space Odyssey. There's a reason they stripped Rodenberry of all creative control after this POS.

STAR TREK 2: THE WRATH OF KHAN (1982) = 5
Fun action adventure flick, with some amazing scene chewing by Montelbon and Shatner.

STAR TREK 3: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK (1984) = 4
Kind of slow, but the final fight and Shatner's 'You killed my son, you Klingon Bastards' was great.

    STAR TREK 4: THE VOYAGE HOME (1986) = 2
I thought it was good when it first came out, but I have a hard time watching it and not cringing later. Kind of funny, but the cast weren't the best comedic actors.

    STAR TREK 5: THE FINAL FRONTIER (1989) = 1
Total shit from beginning to end.

    STAR TREK 6: THE UNDISCOVERD COUNTRY (1991) = 4
A strong finish to the TOS movies, and the juxtaposition of the ending of the Cold War to the future of ST worked.

    STAR TREK: GENERATIONS (1994) = 1
Boring and looks like it was shot with a lens smeared with vasoline.

    STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (1996) = 4
Action flick, much like Khan, and Picard's speech after he smashes his little spaceships was good.

    STAR TREK: INSURRECTION (1998) = 2
Left me wondering why F Murray Abraham's agent hates him so much.

    STAR TREK: NEMESIS (2002) = 0
    Jesus Christ, no. Just....no.

    STAR TREK (2009) = 5
Loved it. Fun and cool. Great cast and great action scenes. Could care less if it pissed on the continuity wank from before.
