A kid seeing a superhero smoke in a comic won't kill them.
A kid seeing red blood in a comic won't kill them either. But I'd be more worried about a kid thinking smoking cigarettes is a completely safe activity before any sort of worries of them ripping someone in half with super-human strength.

But it is not being marketed at young kids/all ages. If kids play it, it is the fault of their parents, not the makers of the game.
    You don't say.

Let me guess, you intentionally ignored the part of my post where I explained and pointed out what I said. Yep, you're definitely in full jackass mode.

Of course they won't rip someone in half with their bare hands, since it would be easier to cut them in half with a chainsaw. My point was/is that showing graphic/gory violence with lots (not a little or a modest amount) of red blood desensitizes kids to the effects of violence and gives them the false sense of security that they can handle real world violence. It also lessons the ability to sell more mature comics, since that same level pf violence can be found in a standard comic meant for young kids.

    You don't say.
What part of "NOT MARKETED AT YOUNG KIDS/ALL AGES" do you not understand? The Big 2's superheroes are marketed at young kids/all ages, MORTAL KOMBAT is not. Robert Kirkman made the same argument comparing the Big 2's superheroes with INVINCIBLE. This is not rocket science.

Just because you have kids, doesn't mean that you are a good parent who knows how to properly raise them.

Hi guys, I was a long term original flavor nova fan, but I don't know, I am kind of interested to see if this new approach reaches more people and expands the characters mythology to more popular heights. Sides, who knows? Maybe in the future we can have the old and new together and everyone can be happy :)

I am curious though, is the new Nova Sam Alexander actually Hispanic? That would be cool if that were true, it would be nice to see marvel continue to create heroes for all people :D

    hiya, welcome aboard.

its weird that you brought this thread up again, but whatever.

I agree that this book might surpass expectations,(reviews look good so far) It seems this is leaning more ultimate X parent-child complex Loeb writing than say hulk or x sanction fight fight Loeb writing so this should be just fine, no matter the flack it gets for not having rider. also its cool to see a rider fan a little more open minded about this.

and as of now we don't know if his mother is hispanic or not, but we know his fathers a white guy. so he's either mixed or just relatively tanned for a caucasian.
