Well, he seemed to be like the more zen version of Logan similar to how Claremont wrote him later. Him being the headmaster NOW in the comic so soon after he did so many sleazy things and continued to do some was really what made my head explode. Sure Logan was a bit clumsy in the WatX cartoon but he wasn't out of control and he was at least more rational. I know many will disagree but he was at a point where he was less blood thirsty in the comics and I felt he had the potential to be a leader. As it stands now I feel that Marvel ruined it for him in that capacity. Or at least for me to buy into it. To me he looks of a sleazy criminal that got promoted to a place (nice cushy mansion, babes ect.) where he is in charge of children. Just... Eew.

I TOTALLY agree there was too much Logan though and that some things didn't make sense but at least he wasn't a blood thirsty animal.

    I really like WatXM.
I hated the fact that it focused on Wolverine tho. Should have just been an X-Men ensemble cast, instead of staring Wolverine and a bunch of supporting characters.
Would love to see it restarted without the Wolverine focus and title.

There was a leak last year of a new X-Men tv-show supposedly debuting in 2013, so here's hoping.

This is very important. Last thing we need is a fucking nightmare with an X-Man show like Ultimate Spider-Man.

However, I'm not sure if the writer or director will ultimately matter with a hack like Jeph Loeb at the helm of Marvel's TV division...

Agreed, I haven't heard anything about this new X-men cartoon. In fact, I haven't heard anything about the new Avengers series. I believe someone made all of that stuff up to build false hype.

The Avengers Assemble cartoon is a real thing. There's promo art for it. There's also a bunch of Avengers DTV movies being made.

What turned me against the show was the assy treatment of Cyclops, The O5 flashback episode in particular, In the comics Scott was the first X-man chosen by Xavier and always acted as his second, yet in the show he seems to be the fourh chosen, he's power is basicly point and shoot yet he's shown as hesitant and ends up the laughing stock when he's clobbered in a training excersize that where beast iceman and angel were previously shown excelling at. later he hesitates against magneto and gets his visor knocked off and need Jeans help in blasting eric. After that Wolverine is shown using bullying tactics that would make Billy Zabka proud to provoke Scott into attacking him so he could turn Jean against Scott and have her all to himself. It was literally a move out of an 80's raunchy comedy like Hardbodies. I felt like the show had just flipped me off in languages.

Yeah I can see how a Cyclops fan might not like WatX. I think every fan with a favorite character will like one series more than another.

Edit: I thought there were rumors of a live action TV series a little while back.

This is all I took away from the show:

Wolverine:(points to Beast) You get me a soda!

Wolverine: (points to Forge) You get me a bag of chips!

    and

Rogue: Hey Wolverine I got all the dirt on the brotherhood!

Wolverine: I don't trust you any longer!

    and

Gambit: F.Y.I I'm going to steal your're helmet.

    Magneto: Wait, WHAT!

    Later...

Gambit: Yes I stole Magneto's helmet! Now to make a quick getaway by going on this boat with a hole in it.

    (Genosha blows up)

    Gambit: Not my fault!

    and

Cyclops is crying in the corner

Wolverine: Jean died 2 episodes ago get over it!

You know what would also make the "next" X-men series work is if the production team decide before they even start to write any episodes we are going to give EVERY character the Wolverine treatment. Which basically means where going to read up on each character not just the superficial aspects like their costume or powers but their personal motivations and identity and then we're going to make a true X-men show where all the characters are just that characters. And NOT pieces of wallpaper that are used to bounce conflict off of.

I loved this series and hate that they cancelled it...especially since Season 2 was going to focus on Age of Apocalypse and both Cable and Deadpool were slated to appear.

Interesting that Cable doesn't appear to have the T-O virus in that sketch...

Agreed. There were times in the show where he was absolutely awesome (the way when they're supposed to be sneaking into Magneto's citadel and Cyclops is just casually blasting every single door he walks by, or the time where he blew one of the Morlocks out of the sewer through the pavement and onto the street), but I hated the way they made Wolverine such a bullying d--k and the fact that even though he was so sleazy and transparent, Jean just immediately turns on Scott and starts flirting with him right in front of the guy. Generally speaking, I think part of the reason I've always kinda sided with Scott in that feud in all it's iterations is that it always smacked too much of the jerky, macho alpha male bullying the school nerd and trying to steal his girlfriend.

Generally, I just thought Wolverine came off as really smug and douchey in that series. I don't hate the character in general. I really liked him in Evolution and felt like he was way more tragic and sympathetic in TAS (despite that show's cheesiness, I really liked Wolverine in that). But half the time watching that cartoon, I kept going, "Ah, shut the hell up, Logan."
