What may have worked : A mix between the DCAU and Smallville Superman (with less soap opera)

Pretty much this except add New 52 Supes and Superman from The Batman and people probably would have been more interested but hey to me better late than never honestly.

I love the Williams score, but it definitely feels like an olde piece of music. As others have said, it's got an evocative, hopeful feeling. It's just that it feels more old school than I associate with Superman. I wouldn't mind if they'd updated the theme a little bit, maybe make it seem clearer and a bit less orchestral, but the classic theme is more of a timeless piece of music that transcends just Superman.

I want a modern theme that is quieter and more atmospheric than the old one. Zimmer's work on Pirates of the Caribbean is a good example; Leif motives that usually only come to the forefront for very big scenes, and ones that shift for each new sequence. His Batman stuff was a lot more primal and subtle. I think he can make a bombastic score for Superman.

I thought the newest score was a perfect updated theme that distanced itself from Williams'. To me, it still screamed Superman especially when the song really kicked in. It seems to be a perfect tone for this newest take on the man of steel.

Superman is not James Bond. His movies haven't been produced with a consistent frequency that keeping the same theme makes any sense.

Superman is all not Star Wars, where it as a theme that represents an entire that represents an entire franchise. Every character in Star Wars movies would share a common them. Every character in SC movies won't

Also, all of the previous 5 movies were connected in some way. This is a completely new beginning and deserves its own identity,
