Marvel Girl?

Agreed. I also hate the color scheme. I think I'd hate the look a little less if she got rid of that terrible trenchcoat and changed the red parts to black (like her space costume, which wasn't bad).

Neither. I've never liked the codename Marvel Girl. I don't think Rachel even uses it anymore so I don't think a redundancy in codenames is even going to be an issue.

I do like both of their Marvel Girl costumes though.

Jean is one of those characters who's always been more identifiable by her real name, hence why in just about every screen adaptation she's always just Jean.

I would streamline the coat, make it a little less bulky. Instead of dropping the red, I'd like to make it a little darker. Maybe more evocative of X3's Dark Phoenix look, which I thought was OK (one of a VERY FEW good things I have to say about the POS movie).

I'd like the outfit under it to be black-and-orange, though, like her Shi'Ar outfit. I agree, that was an awesome look.

Also, I don't much care for how the artists are drawing her Hound tattoos these days. And I miss her shadow form and the Phoenix over her eye, they should bring that back.

It's weird that though Rachel and the Phoenix aren't friends anymore they clearly gave her a Phoenix-like costume. At least for me, her coat looks like it's meant to look like a bird's tail when she flies. And the color scheme doesn't help.

No one ever said Rachel and the Phoenix weren't friends. She just doesn't have access to its power anymore since it was called back. She's still been touched by it, and I think it left its mark.

Besides, IIRC, we don't know what happened to the DOFP version of the Phoenix Force. Who's to say that's not why she's such a badass even without 616-Phoenix?

I prefer Rachel Summers (or Grey sigh) and just have Starchilde be her nickname? So a codename as such.

I did like that one too. And a telekinetic can keep herself warm, and doesn't need to be able to walk.

I love Jean but that was by far her ugliest costume.
