I would always look for items on sale. I patiently wait for items that I really want to be on sale especially if it costs a lot. This is specifically a good idea on big items. If you take place to find one really big item half off or even more reduced, it may be worth purchasing now. You can usually get a payday advance loan to help cover the costs, and you will more than make up for it in savings. Find out more at: Great deal on large items right now
Savings:
Movies - Dollar cinema (really more like $2.50, depending), iTunes movie rentals, Hulu+, Netflix, and going to see new movies on Saturday or Sunday morning
Comics - Only extreeeemely rare $3.99 single issue purchases (it'd better have more than 20-something pages), $0.99 and free comiXology sales, Books-A-Million/convention used trades and hc's, scanned comics in various formats, including Marvel comics on dvd
Clothes - Quality and quantity: buy as many as I can of the best I can find, for the best deal I can get (often outlet malls)
Tech - I gets mine but I usually find a way to get it at a nice discount (Black Friday can be a small price to pay if you execute it right) or I see existing tech to finance it - especially selling my old laptop to pay cover or subsidize the replacement
