Since I launched the project several people have already contacted me about the audio positions so I don't think that will be a hold up, and I've got the design for the website all ready. In terms of the huge amount of artwork, it's going to be episodic, so I can take things one episode at at time and just move forward. I'm not too far away from having enough content for one episode, and that's all I'll need to launch the site.

Thanks mate .I hope you make it , but how many episode can you produce before running out money ?

    Haha, that's awesome! :)

So if this Kickstarter is funded, off of this funding alone I'd be able to produce about 4-5 episodes. But the bigger goal of this is to make Past Away self sufficient. Past Away in this web format that I plan to produce for this campaign, is actually sort of the first phase of a larger project in which I want to create a mobile application version of Past Away and a publishing platform for this type of interactive motion comic. Within that format I would have lots of options for monetization. There are still plenty of ways to monetize on the web, but the ultimate goal is to cover both of those bases and have it available as an app as well as on the web. So in that way even upon this projects completion, it is still actually one big proof of concept for something bigger. All of this is dependent on not only whether or not I can complete this, but also make it awesome and generate enough traffic to seek further funding through an investor OR as a back up plan, if it was simply successful with enough fans I could keep the web version going by simply doing another kickstarter to fund future episodes. A future kickstarter could have a much lower goal because it would only be to create the content, and not the programming bit of it(which is the most expensive). So in the end it all just depends on whether or not I can deliver and all I can say is I'll do my absolute best :) I believe in the idea, and I believe in my ability to accomplish the goals I've set forth, but we won't know the future until it gets here, hehe :)

btw thanks for asking great questions, this information is stuff I'd like to share with people, but it's hard not to make it turn into a huge rant. :p

Indeed I did check out super grandma :) Haha, very awesome.

Well I'm sure anyone who looks can tell my work is japanese influenced. My favorite artists are actually mostly Japanese directors and mangaka. Katsuhiro Otomo, Satoshi Kon, Koji Morimoto, Masaaki Yuasa, Takeshi Obata, Takehiko Inoue, as well as some others. In case peeps in here aren't anime geeks Katsuhiro Otomo, is the creator of Akira, as well as Steamboy and a bunch of other awesomeness. The late Satoshi Kon is most famous for movies like Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress. Koji Morimoto directed my favorite short from the Animatrix anthology "Beyond", and Masaaki Yuasa created one of my all time favorite anime, Kemonozume. If you've never seen or heard of that, at first glance you'll be like wtf, but it's great, trust me :)

In terms of movies/tv, the biggest zombie inspiration comes from the 28 Days/Weeks later movies and the walking dead. The idea of society collapse, and a world without law or consequences has always intrigued me. How people would change their behavior, as well as their outlook on life. With Past Away I wanted to push that concept a bit further, by having the future be a world where everyone is extremely dependent on things like the internet, and mass communication, as well as drones, dunno if I've ever mentioned it in here, but the main character delivers pizza by drone. At the beginning of the story he has to deliver a pizza the old fashioned way and that's where things jump off.

So drones are a big part of the story, but all those things basically just represent our dependence on technology, so what happens when one day it's all just GONE, in an instant. When I thought about it, I don't even know my girlfriends phone number by heart. I don't ever bother to write down directions, and there's a whole slew of things that "they've got an app for that" So imagine that about 150 years in the future where it would be, then take it away, and that's pretty much the world of Past Away.

All my favorite text only books are pretty much fantasy based, with less sci-fi. Their influence is more subtle, but it's in there. But I really love The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I'll stop babbling now. :)

Ahh yes, can't forget about Miyazaki. I saw the Hellsing anime back in the day but never read the manga, also didn't know Kouta Hirano by name. I checked out Drifters, it looks cool! :)

So I just posted this up on youtube. It's a play through of one of the animatics from my project Past Away, which is still live on Kickstarter btw if any of you guys haven't had a chance to check it out. Still got a good ways to go and can use any and all help :)
    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-youll-survive

But anyway here's the animatic, it shows how the story flows and gives a clearer picture of what the finished product will be like.

    Hope you guys like :)
