To me, it sounds like the way Johns is approaching the character his power set is similar to Geo-Force. That's pretty powerful. Looking forward to seeing how his newest incarnation goes.

Also really looking forward to new Katana too.

some time ago i read an article here at CBR in which a retailer complained about DC creating these books which were predestined to failure.
he said it was a waste of time and space, and as a small retailer he had to be careful about ordering only 2 or 3 copies, because if he ordered more and they didn't sell, well that was a loss.
i might digress, but i think he also foresighted this book would get cancelled pretty soon...

February launch and December farewell. Vibe, as a concept, is a great teamplayer, but seriously, does anyone really think that a solo book is going to sell?

I agree. It doesn't help that DC has attached a writer with little name value at all, let alone good will. So the writer is a basic unknown too.

They've also jumped the gun: right now, Vibe is NOT a draw - either people just think of the infamously bad character of years past, or they have no idea who he is at all. DC have decided to put out a solo Vibe book BEFORE seeing what the reader reaction is to him in JLA. Imo, they should've at least waited to introduce fans to the "new Vibe" to wipe away the infamy of the old Vibe, while also gauging reaction and waiting for him to actually become a "breakout star" before committing to a solo book.

    It's just facepalm decision-making.

well with that kind attitude you seem to be damning it before you tried it. It amazes me how much people on here seem to negatively rejudge every new book DC announces.

Wow. I like how this is a topic about the interior art, and everyone is too busy debating how long this series will last!

Anyways, the raw pencils look pretty good. Though, those characters on the pages need to close their mouths, otherwise a mosquito might fly right on in, lol!

Would be interesting to see the finished art of the interior panels.

I think the art is looking really good. Woods strikes a great balance between everyday human life and superhuman craziness, and having an organic bridge between those two worlds will be important to this title working.

I get that Vibe isn't coming into this with the best momentum basically being absent from DC comics and pretty much all media for over 20 years, but I think people are selling this way short. Sure, he isn't a super popular character. Yet. However, if Johns puts as much of his magic into writing the character in JLA as he has Aquaman, GL, or JSA I don't see it being cancelled as soon as you guys are saying. Readers interested in the character will pick up the book due to JLA alone. From the sound of things it looks like the book is also going to eventually be a virtual showcase for characters from parallel Earths who are going to be interacting with Vibe. I think that could be a pretty strong draw for people if they see interesting multiverse versions of their favorite hero/villain on a cover. If people really want to call out a book that is probably going to fail they should direct their attention to Katana instead. A Solo book starring a C-list female character written by Ann Nocenti coming off of an abysmal run on GA who I might add was probably replaced so fans of Arrow weren't picking up GA out of curiosity and dropping it immediately after reading a poorly constructed version of the character. Wow that sure sounds like a formula for success to me. But no, lets go ahead and s*** on Vibe some more. That's way more fun.

I hope Vibe makes it. A good move for D.C.

I'm calling it: Vibe will be the one to bring the heroes of Earth 2 to Prime Earth after the Crime Syndicate (E-3) get through and start wreaking havoc.

I don't know what all the hate is about. Kreisberg may be hit or miss, but I'm sure this baby is under Johns' supervision. Pete Woods is always golden. This book has as much a chance to be great as Booster Gold did before the Nu52, and that book was a huge surprise. I never read Vibe before, but I'm willing to give the book a chance before I start dissing it.

Can't argue with that. All that being said though, some interesting things have been said about the title, and I'm willing to give it a shot, but I'm a lot more open to taking chances on books than a majority of comic readers.
