Could an all NON-CAUCASIAN Avengers team work?

With the idea of an all female Avengers team being floated by fans, it seems fair to open this idea up for discussion (and not bog-down that thread with it). Who would you have in an all-non-Caucasian team? Would it work? Is it too gimmicky? Does that matter? Will it ever happen? Let us discuss the possibilities; and say who we'd have in our non-Caucasian Avengers.

P.S. that said... an all LGBT Avengers wouldn't work (even including Daken, Miguel, Victoria, Hercules, Wiccan and Hulkling; you would still be 1 spaces short; and also the writer would have ZERO wiggle room on who he can use).

Whenever I create teams, I like doing a "spin" on the original/classic cast. So if I was to make an all Caucasian Avengers team, I'd want the original team (with this twist). So I need a Cap, an Iron Man, a Thor, a Wasp, an Ant-man and a Hulk. BUT since I know a Wasp option can't be done, I'll add Scarlet Witch instead (and OH MY GOD, I forgot Doctor Voodoo!!! )... and I don't like Iron Man or War Machine; so I'll have a Black Widow instead.

I'm not sure Vison or Jocasta would count, but you could make a case for them. And I left out a couple of other previous members such as Falcon, Rage, Triathlon, Echo, etc... However, I thib=nk it's an interesting team. I'd read it.
As for it working, I think it'd have a better chance of working if they didn't make an issue of it. Just sort of rotating in the members until people looked abnd saw, "Hey, there's not a single white guy in that team." Organically, and not being a "gimmick". For me, at least, but I like diversity on my teams. Wouldn't like to read about an all white, an all black, an all female, nor an all male team, but about a team with pleanty of all the above.

Since non-caucasion is such a huge classification, I don't think it would feel to gimmicky at all. It's not as specific as say an all Jewish Avengers team or something (which you probably actually could pull off if you tried). I think people would notice more the lack of the Big 3 (and certain "classic" members) than they would the absence of white members in general.

As for the people I voted for...

Black Panther (not Shuri... if she's ruler of Wakanda it doesn't make sense for her to be on a super hero team full time)

Monica (whatever she's calling herself these days)

For a book like this, I'd keep the cast small and intimate. Sort of like Fantastic Four. That way no one gets lost in the background.

Anything can work as long as it doesn't seem too forced. There certainly are a lot of popular characters.

Well, there's no requirement of 7. 7 was just the traditional limit. You can easily go with 3... 4... 5... or 6.

That's why you sometimes need to throw Spider-Man and Wolverine in books like this.

Not because they're white, but because they can sometimes help sales. Which of course ruins the whole non-caucasion thing... but sometimes you just gotta do what ya gotta do to keep a book on the shelf.

Or because society just doesn't feel like they could accept a bunch of nonwhite characters being super heroes in an ongoing title.

Eh... if I even had a team with 80% non-caucasision, I'd still consider that a pretty descent step in the right direction at least from a diversity stand point.
