    Marvel is pleased to present your first look at NOVA #2, from the chart-topping, award-winning creative team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness! After coming face-to-face with a strange, green skinned alien and talking raccoon from a Super Hero team calling themselves the "Guardians of the Galaxy", Sam Alexander now has more questions about his heritage than ever before. $3.99 is still too much for this book.
    Why aren't you reading Winter Soldier? You should be!

    McGuinness. A brand you can trust. You could get a rocket wearing raccoon to write this book... doesn't matter.. Art work is too damn good.

    I used to think that but I've lost too much faith in Loeb at this point. I'm not paying $4 to read someone's fan fiction tribute to their dead son no matter how good the art is.

    To be perfectly honest i'm also getting annoyed at Loeb due to these reasons.

    Sure its huge tragedy but frankly it doesn't mean that you are entitled to a) write bad comics b) insert your son into MU.

    What a vile, inhuman sentiment.

    Jeph named a character after someone dear to him ...and someone I personally knew who was amazing, bright and in no way worthy of your cowardly anonymous, scorn.

    Regardless of your tool-ishness though, it is hardly the first --or even the millionth-- time in literature someone has named a character after someone in their life. Are you really so numb-skulled that you need examples?

    Critique the book all you want, be mad that a super hero comic exists...but maybe have the decency not not do it in the name of dead child.

    Pro:
    * Ed Mac
    * Fresh start potential

    Con:
    * Poor ending after such character revitalization and development (Rich)
    * Price
    * The Nova Corps hasn't had enough problems without recruiting a child?

    Too much for me to take a punt on, especially with the spring cleaning cull I'll be taking to my rack-raiding habits.

    The pricing is certainly strange but this still looks good.

    Amen! As a father, I can't even imagine how hard it would be to lose a child and to write a book with basically his son as the main character is a great tribute to him. This is one of the reason I AM considering getting it because you talk about a writer wanting to be on a particular title, you won't see any writer pouring his heart into something more than this.

    I don't care for that "son" apect of the change, if that is accurate, but if the I initial change was mandated by Marvel, that makes me feel better.

    That said, bringing your deceased son into this in anyway means people need to temper their opinions and be more delicate. That is not what I want to have to do. I feel how I feel about a book or a concept and I want to say that however I want to say that.

    That's not to advocate deliberate dickery.

    Worth a shot. It might actually be good.

    So does that mean Richard Rider was intended for the cartoon? Because Loeb said he wasn't involved in anything, just that Nova had been picked for the cartoon and then he came onboard after that.
