I really hope this is a good mini and doesn't get canned like other origin minis such as Fred Van Lente's Doom story. Would like to see a Starlin easter egg somewhere.

Does anyone else think Thanos needs a costume upgrade? I like the way a lot of the cosmic characters in the past few years have gotten updated looks. Keep the same purple/gold/blue motif, just slightly update the outfit.

I think this is an important part/prelude of what's to come later in the summer.

Maybe a slight modification. But not a drastic overhaul.

You're right.. his costume is missing something. A gauntlet.

For all of my Aaron-bashing, this epic-scale god-like-being stuff is proving to be his forté - so I hope he doesn't go too small scale on this whole "growing up" aspect of the book. Given that Bianchi is one of my favorite artists working today, I really can't wait to see this series - and, hopefully I'll enjoy reading it, too ;)

Not really. I think his costume looks great and doesn't need an upgrade; if the redesign looked good, I wouldn't mind him getting a new look, though.

    Jason Aaron.

    Ill pass.

he will probably have Thanos drinking a beer with Wolverine. Telling him how awesome he thinks he is.

Looks like this is going to be replacing Joe Keatinge's "Son of Titan" mini. While I'm a fan of Jason Aaron, I'm not interested in Thanos's origin. I want to know what happened to him, Starlord and Richard Rider between "Thanos Imperative" and "Avengers Assemble." Why are two of those three back like nothing ever happened, but we've got a new Nova?

Aaron is the perfect choice to write a story about the Mad Titan, just sucks that Bianchi is the artist. His work is horrendous. That being said, this is a must buy for me!

I think Thanos being shown in a bar or something talking about his problems might actually be kinda funny.

The thing is, all of Thanos issues essentially boil down to woman problems. He just can't seem to get the girl. So having a beer with someone and just laying it all out there actually kind of works from a certain perspective.

So Aaron's going to explore the nature vs nurture aspect of an incredibly powerful supervillian's badness? He's going to find out whether Thanos was always destined to be bad or whether his environment shaped him into what he would become? Didn't Rick Remender already do this just last year in Uncanny X-Force with Apocalypse/Genesis?
