What's an old game you'd like to see get a modern update?

speaking of monsters I'd like to see " A boy and his blob" get the Xbox treatment. The original was so flawed yet so fun when throwing jelly beans at a blob to make it turn into something.

I would play that. A lot of these older titles would work well as XBLA style games. Though not a remake Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was awesome and done in the style of River City Ransom. I'd never pay $60 for a game like that but a $5-$10 download, hell yes.

Shadowrun would be a choice of mine, but that has it's "update" coming soon.

An updated game from late in the NES era called Nightshade might be really good if any of you remember that. It would work really well as an action/rpg hybrid in the vein of Mass Effect.

ooh, what was the one with the sleepwalking kid, where the dog had to get him out of jams.

Can't remember the name for the life of me, but I truly loved the premise of that game.

edit: after a quick google I realise it was called Sleepwalker............ dope that I am.

Old school classics:

Joust! Do I really need to explain why? Ostriches!

Berzerk - Robots and Evil Otto (what's not to love about a bouncing smiley face robot lord?!). Based (albeit weakly) on the Saberhagen novel of similar name. Maybe even incorporate stuff from Robotron: 2084, with lots of different types of robots. I think there was a 3D version on PS and N64 in the 90s.

Tron (regular more than Discs of Tron, but that could be part of it) - The regular classic Tron game had 4 parts (light cycles, grid bugs, tanks, and MCP). Bring in stuff from Discs and maybe the new movie.

Defender (and/or Stargate) - Mankind vs aliens and mutants, then they destroy the planet... Or maybe a ground-based version of it.

Also, perhaps s FF should be made that isn't a sloppy mess before they go back to the well.

I know they weren't 16 bit games, but I would like to see The Lion King and Aladdin getting a modern make-over.
