Default What's your favorite comic book run?

If you had to pick one favorite comic book run what would it be? The reason I'm asking this is because a comic book store has 20% off Tuesdays for graphic novels and has no sales tax and I got some money to spend.

I'm still catching up on the history and don't know all the runs ever, but I'd go with the current Batman run, Knightfall, Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night.

My favorite run was Starman if the omnis are available they are definitely worth picking up.

Others might be Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes, Astro City, Invincible, Death the High Cost of Living, Kingdom Come, All Star Superman or Books of Magic

Ooh if we are talking DC; then probably the Starman omnibuses as mentioned, the recently finished Shade series, Batman: The Black Mirror and the entirety of Secret Six.

If I can include Vertigo as well, add Preacher and Transmetropolitan to that list as well.

I'll only give one book per author.

Alan Moore and J. H. Williams III's Promethea - the best writer/artist combination I've seen in a comic book.

Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba's Daytripper.

Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson's Astro City.

Warren Ellis and John Cassaday's Planetary.

Mark Waid and Alex Ross' Kingdom Come.

    If non-DC is allowed:

    David Mazzucchelli's Asterios Polyp.

Garth Ennis' Punisher MAX from "Born" to "The End".

Peter Milligan and Michael Allred's X-Force/X-Statix.

If comic strips count - Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes.
