Beast's New Look, Yay or Nay? :Spoilers:

He's going to wind up looking like Brute.

A fishier, hoofier, beast...without all that meaningless intelligence. The X-Men can have a Hulk or Abomination rip off then. It could be great.

Honestly, I miss the Jim Lee monkey man and probably always will.

This new Orc-Beast looks even more impossible to draw consistently than Cat-Beast (who Immonen finally NAILED, just in time to see him go. goddammit.).

I wondered what the hell he reminded me of - yup, a LOTR bad guy!

Absolutely dreadful - Marvel are going from bad to worse with everything X.

I actually really like the new look, but the bald head does make him look a bit like an orc or a trimmed yeti. I absolutely hated the goat-cat look, and more than 10 years of artists have yet to make that look cool to me.

Neither would his current look be. Even if he goes back to human form, different artists will give him different face shape/eye color/hair color. Just go check how different he looked in various original five titles like the hidden years, X-men first class or X-men season one. The inconsistency happens to every character. for instance, Cyclops might have round face in one title and a long face in another.

True, but the differences looked more...different than other characters. Some artists will draw characters with slightly rounded or pointier faces, but with Cat-Beast there was quite the plethora of snout shapes and sizes, hand vs. paw designs, and really the way his limbs looked could vary to such a drastic degree that if we didn't know he was Beast he easily could have been a different character. His prior, most famous look was much more consistently drawn, and the new look reminds me of that but taller and with less hair.

You all know that I like the classic Ape Beast. (preferably without the Wolverine hair, though Brevoort did make a good point. He had it first.) My favorite look for Beast is this.

Well so far we've already had a few different versions of the new Beast so like cat-Beast, it'll be up to the artist. I did like Bradshaw's version, looks kinda like an Ed McGuiness Gorilla Grood. I miss Quitely cat-Beast though but I miss Morrison in X-Men.

I preferred the Cat beast, this new one looks to humanoid for how I picture Beast. As someone else said he looks almost like hulk but blue and bald. He doesn't look like an animal, and that was one of my favorite parts of him, watching him being all animalistic and super smart at the same time.

Same here, and that is another reason that Morrison and Quitely chose to go for a more animalistic appearance. The juxtaposition of his large, animal appearance combine with his erudite, intellectual mind.

I'm liking this return to the simian look. Plus, it plays on the athletic nature he had in his youth. It'll be curious to see how his intellect plays up to what looks like a more direct brawn. Hated the cat look all the way through. No lie, but I was just going through my graphic novels and found the X-Treme X-Men Volume 1 where Sage hyperdrives his mutation.

He never should have went to cat beast form in the first place. Now he looks like this. Bendis stated that each artist drew cat beast different and it was hard for the artists...well...did Marvel not think that through again? I mean anyone else other than Immonen hasnt been able to draw this...weird looking because quite right either.

Also beasts intillect and the amount of control he has over his own hands has kept changing since he became cat beast...really someone needs to make up their dam minds.
