Both marvel and dc have their merits, but overall dc seem to be chasing marvel, at least creatively. The new 52 is an obvious example, shared universe, simplified continuity, real problems and a more grounded feel. Just pick up a superman or early Morrison action comics, it reads EXACTLY like an issue of PPSSM or 70s-80s ASM
