    This is very accurate.

    Great review all-round.

Best X book out. Proves that good writing can turn C listers into characters you want to read about every month and actual grow to care about.

I've been meaning to get into X-Factor for a while but I didn't know where to jump in. I picked up 240-250 this weekend. So glad I did. The character stories and interactions remind me of Claremont's '80's X-Men.
Now I have to go back and pick up the trades for the rest of the series.

    Hey Jmacleodpc19,

It is a great book. I actually just put all of the issues that I have of Peter David's run thus far on Ebay. Here's the link. I'm not sure it would be cheaper than purchasing all of the trades or not. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160959619388...84.m1555.l2649 Any questions, you can email me at brianm24@hotmail.com.

No other writer made me like Shatterstar or Rictor OR Monet
I tried looking up the Straw Hat Law, but I guess The Amish haven'[t made it to the Internet yet.

There's no such thing as a C-List or A-List fictional character when you have a writer and readers with a decent IQ level.

According to publicity, the Hell on Earth War storyline is one that has been percolating David's books as far back as his run on "Incredible Hulk," so for those readers who have followed his career since then, it's tough not to be excited at the prospect of a larger denouement. "X-Factor" is rarely anything less than great, and with so much work already having gone into this storyline, there's every reason to believe that, like this issue, this story's going to be even better than usual.

wait...really?!?! Didn't he write the incredible Hulk in the 90's?! I'm new to Xfactor so how long has this story line actually been building up?

———He said that he first mentioned it in Incredible Hulk 418, written 1994, featuring the marriage of Rick and Marlo. There are other Hulk issues that also mention it.

418 is the issue where Mephisto came out as the type of guy who likes to screw with marriages. The issue also features a cameo of Neil Gaiman's Death, from Sandman, used with Gaiman's permission.

I'm not exactly sure what the tie-in with HoE is, because I can't find any detailed info about the issue, and I don't remember any of the specifics.

———The Hall on Earth War is mentioned by name, in Incredible Hulk 467 (1998).
The issue—also known as the one where David basically tells the Marvel TPTB how stupid he is for taking him off the title—is set in the future, and Rick Jones tells a reporter from The Bugle (named Peter) that Thunderbolt Ross was killed in the Hell on Earth War.

I have always wondered if Peter got permission to use Death in that issue. Thanks for clearing that up. Both runs(Peter's Hulk and X-Factor)have been must reads for me all these years.

WOW! That's crazy. So did he intend on writing the Hell on Earth war all these years or was it just a throw away reference he used back then? I mean...theres no way he inteded on writing Xfactor as the heroes of hell on earth right? You think at first he intended the Hulk to be the main character?

Wow! Im so enamored by this! So who were all the characters on the final page aside from hela? 15 years seems like a long time to tease a story, I mean can it actually live up to 15 years of hype? How is Peter doing after his stroke btw? I hope hes better.

From L to R: Satannish, Asmodeus, Hela, Mephisto, Satana, and Pluto. PAD is currently in rehab, but recovering well. You can follow his progress on either his blog, or his wife's, both of which include details on how you can help him.
