Ignoring random bits of canon, what substance has ever come out of the Jean/Scott relationship? The books may keep telling us how important their relationship was, but the last ten years have done nothing but show us how irrelevant it really is.

Which itself is ironic in the fact that their relationship while at the same time being called irrelevant has has a huger impact on Scott than the relationship he was actually in.

irrelavant? than I have read different X-Men comics. Jean was always part of Scott lifes even after her death 8 years ago. How often was Emma terrified about the possibility of Jean's return. how many times have Scott saw her in his dreams or in illusions...how can u ever stop loving your first love?

Scott's love to Jean is definitely pathological and not sane at all. He saw her dieing so often too many times and in different incarnations (Madelyne, Phoenix, Jean) and knows that she will be back again. Jean tried to help him and force him on Emma but I think when she will be back his love for her will be back as well.
