Default Reading list for The Anihilators/Guardians?

Saw the new Guardians of the Galaxy book coming out and wanted to read all about them and the Annihilators, can anyone provide a good reading list?

My buddy said to pick up The Thanos Imperative book but I am just not sure.

I did some searching and found that at least Annihilation Conquest 1-6 (2008) is on the list.

I would like the Guardians of the Galaxy 1-25 (2008) run but it is a bit pricey for my taste.

I amy just jump on board with the NOW Guardians coming in a few months and hope they fill the gaps for me.

I honestly think you're okay with just reading Thanos imperative and skipping the rest of DnA's cosmic stuff. Annihilation, Annihilation Conquest, the Guardians of the Galaxy on-going, War of Kings, Reign of Kings, and Thanos Imperative all are part of that build up to it, but you're probably going to have to sell a kidney to pay for it all.

It's worth mentioning that Bendis Avengers Assemble book 1-8 is kind of an into to the Guardians. And it's written by the guy that will be writing Guardians so that might be the most direct into to it. Though I honestly doubt he even need to read that.

    Skip both Annihilators minis entirely.

Conquest is what really leads into the Guardians being formed in the first place, but if you have the ability to get Annihilation...DO IT, IT'S AWESOME.
Hey, that tiger is flying a spaceship.

I'm getting the NOW GOTG and I might request the 2008 series from my library.
