    Default Indies: Valiant Toys

I couldn't understand your post fully because it was so poorly written and lacked correct punctuation, so this is the best way I can explain it to you at the moment while I'm mobile and away from my PC.
Why quote the obvious? Everybody knows this is a different company with different players at every level. This is,however, a company that launched post 2008 meltdown which hasn't improved much anywhere nationally.Look at the numbers that each comic has been selling at compared to 90's Valiant and even back in the day many Classic Valiant titles tended to taper off. Different reasons for both Classic Valiant and and Nu Valiant to be sure. This doesn't mean Valiant is doing poorly, I'd be happier than heck to be running a company doing this well. Each additional development project means more staff and development money which pulls away from core profits without a guarantee of success.Toys and other spinoffs may help the bottom line or it may not,but TV/Film is the place I would go first. That doesn't mean I'm right either. It would help the dialog if every time you guys diasgree with someone that you wouldn't cover your lack of reading skills by claiming poor writing and punctuation is the problem. There are any number of Community locations that that offer adult literacy classes. Please take advantage of them.

And you don't have to insult everyone at every turn as well. You should go read the post he was referring to as it made no grammatical sense. Maybe you were typing on a cell phone or something, no big deal, but Manga writes a blog with several thousand readers, so I'm pretty sure he can read and write.

I understand your point in saying outside projects could drain resources, but licenses do not require this. Selling a toy, or card, or clothing license does not require the hiring of new staff or any production costs.

As far as sales, every book loses readers. Some gain them back eventually or become hits like TWD, some stay at a relatively even level like Saga. But both of those examples lost readers after their first issue (TWD didnt become a hit for almost 2 years), and such cases are extremely rare. The New 52 Justice League is down something like 60% since its launch. The VALIANT titles have dipped by as much, which is natural, but after 6-10 issues they are all beginning to level off between 12-15k per title. That is the third highes average per book behind Marvel and DC. The Mayo Report discussed their sales a month or so ago and came to the same conclusion. Of course, there is still a long road to go for the publisher to be considered stable, but they are on a very good track and have no reason to avoid branching out to something like statues or non-articulated figures, or selling a license should someone be willing to pay for it.
VALIANT, Saga, Manhattan Projects, Locke & Key, Hawkeye, Young Avengers.

    Okayiseewhat.you're saying.your gramnnmmar is wonder.full.

You're the only one stating the truly obvious. Of course comics these days aren't selling like they did in the early 90's, almost nothing is as popular or as big as it was back then. I've talked to plenty of people who had no idea that today's Valiant isn't yesteryear's Valiant, unless your in the know than you're probably not privvy to that information like we are.

It's really too bad your dyslexia was never dealt with years ago. Looks like it is too late now.I see your point that people had no idea Valiant had disappeared for a few years.I wasn't aware myself of the original Valiant back when it first came out even though I did nothing but indies at the time.Since it's second launch I get the impression that the store I was dealing with may have been somewhat hostile toward shelving the original Valiant for some reason.Owner was a huge Marvel fan at the time and lost all his Marvel stock in the bankruptcy or whatever was going on then.Well I'm off this topic permanently. It's been fun. Maybe your trifocals are out of alignment and that is the problem.

Finally, the troll leaves the cave and vows never to return! Hooray! Maybe now we can get some posts within this thread that actually make some sense instead of his mindless banter and poorly written "points".

Back on topic: Valiant, make toys. Thank you.

Ugh. I hate when figures are so articulated it begins to alter their body shape into looking unnatural. Looking at the stomach articulation here.
Dissapointed, has kinda killed my enthusiasm for this line. :(

Well that's not even a tease...I am psyched to see the whole line eventually. I usually don't get figures, but that darn VALIANT....

Okay, that's obviously Shadowman and I'm now fully convinced that we are getting a line of Valiant action figures in the near future. I'm betting that this isn't going to be a big budget production and that these toys will only be available in limited quantities but I'm very excited nonetheless.

I am looking forward to them because I am a big toy collector. I have only recently got in to Valiant with the new line (I started with Bloodshot and only that title) but I have expanded to include Shadowman and Harbinger.

Harbinger is brilliant. So much better than I expected it to be. I also really enjoyed Shadowman but it was my least favourite of the three. I will definitely look at grabbing the other titles as this is a fresh new universe for me to explore.
