I've really been loving the Seeley and Bernard run--it's sexy, gritty, and delightfully wild. But the current story arc is connected to the previous one about shady underworld dealings between our world and one on the other side of the looking glass, so issue #163 is very much in the thick of that.

I did some research so I know all about First born, Broken Trinity and Artifacts and I picked up The Darkness and Artifacts recent issues, so Im all set for the upcoming Progeny storyline. Also managed to read Darkness #101-105 online for free so that helped as well. Going to get the compendiums soon too

This series is worth buying for the artwork alone, but the stories are great as well. They've become a lot more self contained in recent times and I think that's been good for the series. Looking forward to this!

this is going to be my first Witchblade iss as well. I got high hopes for it, one question though do I have to get Artifacts as well?

Technically you don't have to, they are separate series. I dig it and do recommend it. But if you're jumping in on the middle of this Witchblade stuff here, I think Witchblade: Rebirth v1 and v2 would be even better trades to pick up. Or pick 'em all up, s'all good.

Not currently, but the Progeny crossover is about to start between the two and The Darkness. But if you get the gist of the recreated universe id imagine youll be fine.

I had to do some research for Witchblade to understand the gist of the current run. Darkness however is pretty straightforward, and you can still read #101-105 online for free which helps. Artifacts is just a gorgeous book. Im here for the Progeny crossover next month. Good place to start Id gather.

This issue was fun even though I had no idea what was going on lol. Love the art!
