Wonder if this chaos at DC is just an extension of the larger power struggle at WB. Anyway, looks like the bloom is off the DCNU rose. Marvel is back dominating the charts and the movies.
Interesting how the comments in this article compare Shooter and Didio.
Marvel had a ~1.5% unit share over DC in December, down from 5% and 7% from the previous 2 months (which were big Marvel NOW! months). And Marvel publishes 10~20 more monthlies...not including double-shipped titles? 12 of the Top 25 sellers in Dec were DC. Hardly domination.
Comics were happier before the Internet turned writing superhero stories into fruitless attempts to impress/entertain a small group of ppl who appear to hate comics and their creators.

Seems to be the case for all of 2012

Marvel's back to #1
but being #1 =/= "domination", at least not in the more general sense of the word. Going off that list doesn't really reveal anything besides Marvel had the #2-16 top sellers of the year (while DC had the majority of #17-146...). Total unit sales across the entire line are (or at least should be) the ultimate "chart judgment". And it's a lot easier to interpret the data if it's by a monthly basis. If we're judging by the top individual issues only, then one could conclude that Image "dominated" Marvel since they had the #1 seller of the year. But clearly that's not the case.

As one of the people correcting Shooter comments in that thread its all matter of people believing what Byrne and other artists at Marvel at the time said as gospel and others actually looking at the reality of what was going on there at the time.
All the hate on Shooter because he actually tried to keep them to a schedule. Its time to permanently debunk the myth.
