Marvel Comics Solicitations for April, 2013

Very excited to see Ultron #1AU in particular: may only be a one-shot, but I was really hoping to see how Victor Mancha ties into the event, so this is absolutely perfect. Hope we get more news on this soon so we can know who is writing and what we can expect story-wise.

Since AVX, his DNA suddenly started going screwy, but he fixed it in the latest All-New X-Men. He's now back to ape-like.

Dead doesn't affect the big names! Everyone else stays dead!

You mean like Bucky? Aunt May? The Original Human Torch? Blink? Nick Fury? D-Man?

Nobody stays dead, not even the female Bucky from Heroes Reborn, which had been brought into 616 not that long ago.

The only characters that stay dead are the ones that not a single writer out there can come up with any plans for. And in that case, is it really such a big loss? Meaningful characters that have been killed off and never resurrected, like Gwen Stacy, can be counted with just one hand.

Bottom line, dead means "on the shelf until a writer wants to use him/her". Triathlon isn't dead, but he might as well be. No one's using him. And when someone has plans for him, they will. Whether he was "dead" for 5 years until they bring him back, or whether he was living adventures off-panel all this time... what's it to the reader? It makes no difference.

Let DC cultivate them and then take them away because DC doesn't pay/appreciate its talent enough.

Great month of solicits. The covers are all so pretty.

I don't know if I would classify Francavilla as DC talent. He's done just as much or maybe even more Marvel work over the last few years. Love that he's doing 2 issues of Hawkeye.
I'd love to see Jock get more than just cover work at Marvel. He'd great on Hawkeye, DD, SSM.
