    Default REVIEW: Threshold, #1

Keith Giffen kicks off DC's new space superhero title along with Tom Raney and Scott Kolins, but while there's potential for both storylines, neither jumps out and demands to be read just yet.

    That's PULSAR Stargrave, Greg.

Gideon Stargrave is a Grant Morrison created character for "Near Myths", used later in "Invisibles".

This was okay but ultimately it's forgettable, and I probably won't even remember to pick up the second issue. More old talent trying to reel in a younger audience and present fresh ideas.

How's that workin for ya, DC?
Grandparents dead - please no jokes

I didn't like this at ALL. I felt I wasted my money. Disjointed. Uninteresting. Not the DC I once knew.

Well said! I wish more people would get upset! When something is bad someone anyone should say something!

I'm the first to criticize DC for going to the well of old, burnt out creators, but it's a generalization that doesn't hold for all of them. Keith Giffen, Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis are all 'old' creators that continue to be idea factories of the highest order. Neil Gaiman has lost none of his narrative and emotive power over the years. Alan Moore is as technically skilled as ever.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but there was more substance, more thought, and more pure creation in this book than in any single book I've read from some of the hotter new creators out there.

I'm not saying that guys like Lemire, Hickman, Aaron, etc aren't great. But Keith Giffen is still a master. In fact, I'd argue he's the proto John Hickman.

I thought this was pretty good. I think I'll like the Larfleeze backup.

Does anyone know if Jediah Caul is human?

Doubt it. He has yellow skin and he patrolled a sector far from Earth.
