I won't read it until trade, but it sounds fun to me. The crazier superhero comics get, the more I love them. It is one of the reason that I love Cosmic Marvel.

Another thing I missed before about the Rogers flashback stuff in this issue, is that here we are seeing how Steve doesn't want another outnumbered friend suffer alone, and so suffering shared is suffering better coped with. Steve couldn't live with himself if he couldn't stand up to those bullies, but walked away ashamed. The girl showed what it is like to be that way. She was willing to leave Arnie get a beating, because there was no risk to her safety. Steve didn't like that. Steve was taught by his mother what women should be like. Not be victims, but able to stand in the face of violence. Women take beatings anyway, from brutal and stronger men, but they don't have to cringe and be intimidated, like that girl was. This is what Steve is showing now. He learnt what his mother taught him.
So you can imagine, when that girl walked away with that bully, if they got married, that bully would beat her whenever he wanted, and she would cringe in a corner every time he did it.

Visited NY and DC and saw Spider-Man Turn off the Dark.
This is a great series so far, I'm just loving.
This issue... was creepy lol. Between what he did to the poor maid and the Zola on Caps chest
HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

A couple of things regarding Arnie were foreshadowed. In the same conversation, really, the one about girls? Arnie seems disinterested, talks about working out. Because he used to defend Steve when Steve got picked on. So presumably, Arnie bulks up a bit after this outing.
Say what you will, but even when there's something that looks like it might slightly break with continuity, Remender's done his homework, he's found ways to slide it in.
But seriously, the Zola chest gag? Pure f'n Kirby.
The Punisher: I’m going to cauterize your rectum, sealing it shut, so when you turn those delicious Pink Pants™ Fruit Pies into waste products the bilirubin in your feces will leach into your bloodstream and you’ll die screaming! And I’ll watch while having sex with this grateful prostitute!
Trussed-Up Hooker: Blueberry are my favorite!
In other words, what StoneGold said.

Just re-read this issue tonight and damn oh damn is it good. The Kirby feel of this series totally works for me, in fact I think it's one of the best books at Marvel right now. So much genre bending goodness.
I haven't wanted a hero to simply punch a villain in the face in a long time. I can't wait for Cap to take out Zola.
That last page, I could feel the anguish. Fantastic cliff-hanger. Can't wait for #4.
After an awesome first issue the last couple have left me kind of...eh...still awesome as far as different ideas and a different spin on the title, which I like, but really issues 2 and 3 could have easily been condensed to 8-12 pages of total material without sacrificing anything...the pacing is killing me...
Still, the Zola background in the beginning was a neat twist, and creepy...I think it added some depth that I haven't saw in this character (so not sure if it's been covered before)...
sad I have to wait another four weeks now for the next issue...
