    Default Avenging Spider-Man #16 *SPOILERS*

It's the first team-up between Spock and the Mutants, and guess what happens when the Superior Spider-Man rubs shoulders with Homo superior? What, you think they'll get along fine? Ya think?!
    spoilers:
Otto gets his first full-on taste of Spidey's superhero life when he joins up with Jonah's Anti-Spider-Man Patrol against a monstrous spider. He has trouble coordinating his mind and his muscles together; he notices the spider's human eyes and is about to take drastic measures when the X-Men arrive. And that's when the trouble starts as he considers them beneath him as genetic freaks, even the brainy Beast. Wary of Rachel's telepathy. He's actually making good use of Parker's memories of the x-Men, getting them out of harm's way plus his powers of observation lead him to the right conclusion about the spider being a mix of human, spider, and something else. The X-Men also pick up on his new mannerisms and speech. Spock eventually hits upon a plan to subdue the monster, getting help from Storm, which impresses everyone, except Wolverine senses something amiss; and they come to blows. As Otto explains how he subdued the spider, it morphs back to human form, and Rachel senses a tabula rasa within. Wolvie sneaks up on Spidey, immobilizes him, and orders Rachel to scan him. But with an inspired use of Parker charm, he guilt trips her about Steve Rogers disapproving of forced probes, and Wolvie relents. As Beast detects mutant DNA in her they wonder if Mr. Sinister is involved, but as Otto swings off, he comes to another, and correct conclusion: the Jackal, who makes a last panel appearance.
    end of spoilers
And you had to guess he'd/she'd/it'd show up again sooner or later.

    Mutants, superior to Otto…?

I prefer the writing of Doctor Spiderpus in this book compared to his portrayal in the core book.

It seemed Dok Ock showed a little hatred towards mutants in general and also how he pwn'd Logan and called out the X-Men in general.

Wow this series is completly better then SSM. I loved everything about it. It was satisfying seeing Spiderman punch wolverine. I do think though that this whole Superior spider man would have worked better if he was an older Miles Morales or Miguel. The story is good and I like how SSm is manning up to everything that was childish about Peter but that fact that he is still doc ock really makes it meaningless for me. So what if ock gets redemption I dont care. but this series is better then ssm. But its almost like 2 different characters.

It wouldn't work with a character out of the blue. It had to be someone personal. And only Ock would have the nerve to call himself superior. But I'm loving the whole deal more and more. Medina is awesome.
There's a bit of Spider-Man in all of us.

I think Medina draws the best superior.

I hope the new mutant appears in WATX or All new XMen.

    SpOck > Peter Parker
    Calling it now.

Hail the new status quo. Just hope he gets used to it and learns to wear the skin of a proper spidey anti-hero.

I do hope when the bullsh*t "Peter is back" story comes, at least it doesn't erase Ock's time. He becomes more of a mix of the two.

Any comic that features Spider-man taking down Wolverine is a 5-star book IMO.

Then Logan must know that Superior Spider-Man isn't Peter Parker. And Chris Yost is doing a very good job with Superior Spider-Man. I asked him if he would be interested in talking the reins of the Superior Spider-Man series once Dan Slott tenure on the book is wrapped up. He told me that do a bi-weekly series isn't for him as it would put a strain on his creative talents with that type of deadline.
