I like the guy who wrote Ultimate Spiderman, Alias or The Pulse, but I totally hate the guts of that guy who ran Avengers the last decade
After the clusterfuck that was Disassembled, I still gave Bendis the benefit of doubt, and went through the whole NuAvengers Vol.1, but this just felt slow and dumb to me. He needed like a whole year just to get the team together and then never did any interesting with them, instead introducing Spiderwoman and seemingly forgetting about the other characters (especially Sentry who had a painfully slow introduction). Same went for storylines that were slowly introduced and then quickly forgotten (There was a hidden agenda behind the prison break! Forget that, there's something rotten in Shield. No, wait, umm, Suddenly Skrulls! This time extra serious!). I know some of the plot-hooks were taken up years later by other writers (Secret Warriors), but for as long as I suffered New Avengers, it was all build up, without any kind of satisfying closure.
Later I picked up Dark Avengers, but while the banter was indeed enjoyable, the actual story was again all buildup again (we've been shown for the whole run, just how logic-defying ridiculiosly unkillable the Sentry is, how many times!?) without a satisfying end (After being erased from the timestream or being disassembled on a molecular level, Mjolnir or not, a hammer to the head just doesn't feel right).
