Yeah, I did kind of think Phoenix destroying literally every planet between it and Hope was kind of a dick move.

Phoenix. It is interesting though that the Illuminati who were mostly (Stark, T'challa, Strange) against the X-Men are now in a position of having to destory planets to save the universe though.

Yep it funny when you think about but sometimes tuff descion have to be made. But I when it comes to AvX I ask you question what was the reason the Phoenix was destroying planets???

It was trying to get to Hope. I understand that but it still doesn't negate the fact that billions died in it's path.

That was sort of the confusing thing about it.

To some degree the Phoenix is supposed to be a force of destruction, and rebirth or whatever. But I don't think it's ever acted QUITE in this manner before. It was literally just destroying every world in it's path. Captain Britian, who had the Phoenix living in his house for years, was shocked that it was acting in this manner.

So I'm not sure if it's just natural for the Phoenix to destroy everything in it's path and we just normally don't see it, or if the situation with Hope somehow effected it's behavior in some way. I guess we'll never know, because it's not like the Phoenix told us what the hell it was doing.

Hey what could hope do but really if somebody didn't utter three little words then none of this happens but at the end of the day everybody got what they wanted

    Not really, no.
Phoenix burns away stagnant systems and fuels future life with it.
It destroyed a planet and killed billions when Thor pissed it off tho, because it had to restore energy

Yeah, I get that... I just don't entirely see why it had to destroy every planet in it's path to do that.

It destroyed planets prior to Thor. The only reason the Avengers went to stop it is because it had already destroyed Planets and earth was on it's path. If it had just shown up the Secret Avengers would never have been called out to deal with it.

I think Marvel just wanted to raise the stakes and changed the way the Phoenix operates. It's been written pretty inconsitently as it is.
