Researching Superman

Hi! I'm writing a thesis on Superman and have struggled to find the answer to a question - I found this website/forum of very knowledgeable members and was wondering if anyone could help me?

I was wondering how quickly the issues of Superman and Action Comics went from writing to print/publish? Whether the process sped up or slowed down over time. The specific time period I'm looking at is the late 1960s to early 1970s, so around the time of Action Comics Vol 1. 350. I assume plots would be written and drawn on a month-by-month basis - since the reader response was influential, the industry was a bit temperamental etc.

If anyone knows anything or could point me in the direction of a website/book, it would be much appreciated :D !

I know the entire process was shown and detailed in The Amazing World of Superman, but no clear timetable was stated...I believe I read somewhere that Faora's first appearance which was cover-dated May 1977 was actually first plotted in the summer of 1976, and I think books were released 3 months ahead of the cover date then the book came out in February...this would place the start of the process somewhere like late Aug-early Sept, so 6 months?
