I guess it depends on how reliable this information appears to be. As long as it seems to have any crediblity the Rebellion gets hurt hard.

The droids get captured immeaditly, and never even leave the ship. Leia gets captured again, and Vader possibly tries to train her. Luke also gets captured, and Vader takes out Ben in his hut on Tatooine. The Death Star gets its exhaust port defended, and Yavin IV is its first stop, followed by Hoth, and maybe the forest moon of Endor. Key players of the Rebellion, like Lando, Wedge Antilles, Mon Mothma, and Admiral Achbar get hunted down ASAP, and I'd be surprised if the star Destroyers don't fire upon the Falcon from space, as soon as they reach the area.

So unless the Rebelion has a lot more under their sleeve that what was shown in the films they are getting eliminated hard. It is possible that Vader's reunion with his kids will lead him to splinter away from The Emperor like he discussed before and without Ben around to guide Luke, I'd think Vader could convert him easy enough. So there is a possiblity of Vader starting his own Civil War against the Empire, but unless he started helping out the Rebels, I don't see many of the rest of the Imperials taking his side on it, since Vader seemed pretty unpopular amongst the Imperials, with them even insulting the Force opening in front of him.
