    Default Tim Truman's Scout

Was thinking about picking up either the back issues or the tpb's as the premise sounds interesting to me. How good was the original series or any of the ones that came after? Thanks in advance!

It's been a while since I read it, and it's probably a tad dated in terms of futuristic survival-type series set in a world where the U.S. has been torn asunder.

I can only speak for the first arc which I thought was pretty good unfortunately I haven't picked up Vol.2 or whatever followed. It delved into Indian shamanism and animistic religion and a modern age Army Ranger trained American Indian who is starting to see spirit visions of certain Gods who are behind the dystopian collapse of America and decides to do something about it. At first he thinks he is just going crazy but as he accepts the visions he enters a world that moves between the Spirit World and reality.I know all that sounds like a mouthful and a half but as a pioneering indie comic of sorts it is really pretty cool. Check it out.

I really liked it when it came out - I too haven't read it in a looonnnnng time, but remember it happily, and particularly so for the clear, sharp artwork. I think it's worth your time & $.

Another one that read it a long time ago. Remember artwork (especially covers) as really good, and story as pretty good.

Certainly worth buying at right price, but I'd put in a far stronger rec for Tim Truman's run on Conan or his Hawkworld mini (really exceptional in my view).

Finally remember story line in second volume (Scout: War Shaman) as a fair bit stronger that first series, feel the comic got better as it went along, rather than tailing off.
