    Default Variants, Variants!

How and when do you decide to pick up variant covers of your favorite Bat-title?

Do you just grab it if the artwork appeals to you or is there a method to your comic-collecting madness?

Also, I'm wondering, what's the best way of seeing previews of what variant covers will be available for a given issue.

I've noticed that CBR's previews will include images of variant covers, but is this fool-proof?

i usually will get a variant if its a a really cool piece that adds something artistically (in my opinion) or by a artist i really like.

I am pretty sure CBR pulls there previews from Diamond Distributions site, so you can always check there too....http://www.diamondcomics.com/Home/1/1/3/103

DC: Batman and related, Green Lantern, The Flash, etc

I usually decide that morning, depending on how much it is and how it looks in person. But for the most part I pick up variants for certain artists or titles. Personally, I pick up Batman Inc variants.
Currently reading: New X-Men vol. 2 and King City

I don't typically get variants, but I got the one for Batman Inc the other week.

Sorry, Chris Burnham. Really didn't like what you did with that one.

I get my comics digitally, and the variant covers are always included... and I actually hate having to go through the extra covers #firstworldproblems.

Funny. I got the variant for 6 as well. It was indeed the cover I preferred but the only reason I bought it was becaus my store had run out of the standard cover.

I usually pick and choose the variants I want. Just the covers that really wow me.

I wish I could pick and choose. My store doesnt allow me to buy variants right off the shelf, pretty sure they hoard them and sell them with ridiculous prices. Once saw a variant at mine for 20 bucks but at my buddies store he goes to they were selling the same one for 8 bucks...yeah...

The place I go to is pretty reasonable. I was surprised that they were out of the standard cover, but like I said, I kinda preferred the variant anyway. I think it was $8.99.

The last variant I got was the RIP issue with ZEA Batman holding a knife and grinning. Love that cover!
