Strange Parallels to Amazing Spider-Man #700: Web of Death

I was reading over this article from Adventures in Poor Taste a little while ago. The author brings up some interesting parallels between the storyline from "Web of Death," which took place during the whole Clone Saga ordeal and the current events in Amazing Spider-Man #700. It's surprising how similar they are, actually. The author says:

"One could probably draw a lot of parallels between “Web of Death” and the recent Superior Spider-Man stuff, as both stories cover some of the same themes. Both involve Doctor Octopus exploring his relationship with Spider-Man, learning his foe’s secret identity and coming to understand and respect what Spidey does. Both even feature Peter entering the outskirts of the afterlife and being reunited with the spirit of Uncle Ben!"

Very reminiscent of Joker's relationship to Batman in some of the latter Animated Series episodes, as well as The Dark Knight movie; I think having knowledge of this story arc definitely adds to the profundity of what's taking place now with Slott's writing. Do you guys think we'll see any further parallels to the "Web of Death" storyline as the Superior Spider-Man one unfolds? (And I never realized how ridiculous Stunner was as a kid. She did get my Spider-Sense tingling though, if ya dig.)
