    Actually not really.

Look at the Marvel NOW! Iron Man. Its gotten bad reviews and the art is horrible and the story is mediocre but people are still buying it because they love Iron Man so why would Marvel change anything? I love Iron Man but there is no way I'm gonna spend 3.99 on a book that is not up to my standards creator wise.

I voted for creative team. But I of course pick titles based off several criteria, chief of which is if I enjoy reading the title. And a title is only an enjoyable read if the creative team is good on that title. So for example, I do enjoy some of Jason Aaron's work and this lead me to start reading Incredible Hulk (despite not caring about Hulk one bit), I didn't stick around because in this case the writer wasn't good. I like Waid, and so I'm giving Indestructible Hulk a chance. Too early to say how this will fare. Some writers are just good at writing certains characters, and not so much on others. For me, following writers, in particular, has lead me to discover new characters to like and enjoy.

I started off reading only X-Men and Batman (wasted a lot of money on trades I probably don't care to ever read again because I was told the events were "important" for continuity), as those where my favorites from childhood, but following creators who wrote what I consider awesome runs (e.g. Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, etc.) has lead me to follow other characters (e.g. Wonder Woman), which in turn leads to recognize the talents of more creators and thus leading to more characters. Creators are the kings, in my opinion. They can turn a third-rate character into gold (or a good character into garbage!).
