I am european, so i will buy a book with a title called SEX. I am attracted to that without knowing anything, didnt read the interview, i just buy it because its Casey and SEX. But i also know it has to be about something else than porn or Sex, because the title is tooooo obvious...

Sex has been banned by Apple and will not be sold on Comixology on their devices :(

Readers wishing to purchase the book digitally must do so via iBooks or from Images website, which can then be synced to i-devices.

Despite my concerns raised earlier, this wasn't too bad of a comic. Lots of potential with its characters and plot it's developing here. Especially like the art on this. My problem was what I thought I have, it's the sex. The sex in this comic is strangely combined with a a serious scene where we learn why Simon specifically stopped what he was doing. Between both scenes interlaced, it felt very strange and awkward, making me not sure how to exactly feel towards what is happening. Frankly, I think it would have been better to have the hospital flashback earlier and just have the two girls screwing and him not really reacting to it by itself.

I'm not sure if I will want to continue following this though since even though I thought it was better than how it was being sold, I didn't really get into it. I might give the next issue a shot, but maybe not.
That was the point. It emphasized how he was, mentally, a million miles away and how superheroing has perverted him; "normal" stuff that the average straight male would find hot does nothing for him. A scene of him just not reacting would've been too ambiguous, even for a book about how frail the psyche is.

Joe Casey is kind of a mixed bag for me. He has a lot of innovative ideas, but his actual writing doesn't live up to that. He's kind of like Scott Lobdell in that way.

Wildcats 3.0 he stripped down an X-Men ripoff team into something about corporations and politics, but it eventually became a generic action/espionage book. Uncanny X-Men and his Superman runs were both meh. I think he's part of the Ultimate Spider-Man crew, and that show stinks.
I think Casey's problem is that he seems to think he's smarter or more creative than he actually is.

I read the first two volumes of Godland. He seemed to WANT to make a big cosmic epic that blew people's minds. But really it was just a bunch of weird ideas that went nowhere and were pretty standard superhero fare. An Iron Man mini that he wrote felt like he was trying to make his villains into something "more," but it just kind of felt like the same group of bad guys doing the same bad guy things.

He's got big ideas, but kind of falters on how he conveys them.

I think he tends to try treading new ground with old ideas which...doesn't always work out that well.

That's what drew me to Sex, though. I mean as far as we've seen it's another take on the "Batman" archetype but it was in no rush to say a particular thing about itself in that regard. The first issue was ostentatious and unconventional in pace, and I feel like this could be a very seasoned writer using buzz and curiosity to say something pretty slick.

I don't get it. I have an ipad and was able to buy it on comixology...although I did purchase it through the web browser and THEN later downloaded it on the ipad. Maybe this is a way around it!

I wanted to like this book as I've always been quite a fan of Casey in the past. I am not giving up yet, but it was incredibly boring. I felt too much like the main character was supposed to be Tony Stark. Sex is either really going to take off and maybe be more interesting in Trade format or its just going to go nowhere.

He is nothing like tony stark tbh, he is a sad superhero though (if that counts)
