But honestly, everyone made negative comments when they heard HB was cancelled, despite their nationality. Also, Diggle is still with DC I think, my point was I don't think the cancellation of HB is that much of a motivation for a writer to quit his job or not take up a job.
HB wasn't just a book for a lot of these Brit writers-- it was a calling. I'm sure most of them would take a book from DC, but think long and hard about writing JC-Lite in Constantine just because of the comparisons. Diggle already wrote HB, told his story and moved on.

There are so many other changes that need to be made, that the ones they did change are just so pointless and disappointing. These changes are basically all unnecessary.

They probably plot the book together like Brubaker and Fraction did on Immortal Iron Fist, then Fawkes does the majority of the scripting like Fraction. At a certain point, I'd imagine Lemire's input will be less.

In any event, it's no more workload for Lemire than what he's already had over the past few years.

This is exactly what Lemire just tweeted for both books.

Indeed, he's co-plotting both books. Meaning he's off scripting for JLD, as well.

This can only be an improvement. Was not feeling his scripts.

Meh, Lemire on Constantine, that sucks.

I love the man and think Essex is a modern masterpiece and enjoyed the hell out of Sweet Tooth and Underwater but Superhero books just lack that emotional umph that his creator-owned stuff has.

No this isn't a plea for creator-owned is the best because I thoroughly enjoyed Animal Man but that was it.

I think a lot of it can be blamed on Johns/DiDio, based on how Constantine and the team were portrayed in the Phantom Stranger issue. The superheroes with magic window dressing direction seems to be a decision based on marketing and building up Trinity War.

But after that JLD #0, no way in hell I'm reading a Lemire Constantine.
