Sue Richards because she's pure at heart.
Adam warlock- he has wielded the infinity gauntlet and was sensible enough to share it as to not be corrupted .
Kitty Pryde-anyone willing to sacrifice herself to endlessly travel space trapped in a torpedo is worthy.

I could never consider Peter Parker because he made a deal with the Devil. I'm not a OMD hater but it IS canon and it was a big compromise of his character.

I should have said Captain America would be worthy. Doctor Doom would be capable.

Doom would find a way to steal/unlock the power of the hammer. Same way he did
with the power cosmic and the destroyer armor.
Imagine what would happen if he did and Odin found out. Big O might just have to get his hands dirty and make an example of Vic. Messing with the hammer might go ignored, but both that and the Destroyer? I don't think so.

As for Peter Parker, I don't see him qualifying the same way Superman may fail while Wonder Woman would be considered Worthy.
You mean he's not female? KIDDING. You could be right. I have always assumed "worthy" meant pure motives, but Cap being a rare example and Bill another, fighting spirit seems to be a factor. Makes one wonder if Batman would make a good candidate, but I think not because of the revenge motive.

It's more than a compromise. It's out of character, especially since it makes no sense. As if he hasn't been prepared for her passing for years now. Total bull. She's been at death's door way too often. It was her time. What kind of mama's boy is this guy? Frankly, it only makes sense if you consider that the only reason Pete went along with this is that the writer- or more likely, the power that is Marvel- wanted him to. And that makes me question Quesada's judgement.

I hope that if it isn't just cover tease, that the enchantment is being bypassed because Thor is just allowing Hulk to use Mjǫlnir. That's what happened when Superman used Mjolnir in JLA/Avengers, and while crossover comics are usually considered non-canon, that one is held in higher regard then most.

As for who should be worthy to hold the hammer, I'd like it to be a pretty exclusive club. From my interpretation of the old Thor comics, The Worthyness enchantment was mostly there to push Thor into developing into the ideal Asgardian warrior that Odin wanted Thor to be. There were old Tales of Asgard comics by Stan and Jack depicting young Thor measuring how far along toward that ideal he was by trying to pick up the hammer, and only being able to lift it a few inches up, a little bit at a time. It seemed to take Thor decades or centuries to become worthy. Anybody else being able to lift the hammer would probably be either some kind of oversight on Odin's part when designing the enchantment, or perhaps some kind of once in a millennium test for Thor to prove himself against history's most virtuous warriors. In either case, someone other then Thor lifting Mjolnir shouldn't be easy or common.

Peter Parker because he could tap into the full power of Mjolnir in many ways than Thor could ever imagine. The Thunder God has yet to realize the full potential that his hammer has. But Peter could release that power that no other writer could ever imagine.

    My choices would be:
Quasar - I could see him lose the quantum bands and then pick the hammer up and becoming a new super-hero(this could be done via Beta Ray Bill's Stormbreaker, though).

Wonder Man - tournament, Simon beats everybody up and wins the hammer. Also it could play on the fact that Simon has nevef felt worthy and always had confidence issues back in the day with in Avengers when he fought Nefaria and so forth. Finaly he would beat this and finally become confident and "worthy".

Luke Cage - transforming him into new powerhouse Power Man.

Somehow i would like the Punisher to be able to get it lifted, He can then take his villain killing to another level, trying to kill guys like Magneto or Abomination. Might make a good mini.

Other 2? Rogue ( maybe we could see it is an Uncanny Avengers one day) and Namor which would be very cool, especially when he picks it up and finds out the power of Thor was always way beyond his own and that all those years Thor was just toying with him and holding back. That would suddenly make his green 'budgie smugglers' feel real big and roomy all of a sudden and make his ego shrink to the size of a sparrows left knacker.

None of these guys are really 'worthy' of course, but for the sake of the stories things could be worked around.

About Namor I would like to see go in a opposite direction and say that him picking up hammer was destiny as he was always destined to be the ultimate link between the sea, the earth and the sky(hence the little wings that magically came to be at his birth).

since you stated that it doesn't matter who the character is and we'll pretend he/she is worthy enough

    1. Deadpool - love him or hate him you gotta admit it would be all kinds of crazy if he came to such power
    2. Doctor Doom - because all others are inferior
    3. Phoenix (Jean or Hope) - just because I'd like to see what kind of power she would posses in such a scenario
